Added 2024-06-27 20:34:50 +0000 UTCSince not everyone saw my latest Statement on Discord yesterday, I wanted to post it here as well, and I also want to clear a few things up.
For those who do not know what this is about, I made a post that I should not have, or at least I should have phrased it in a way where the meaning is clearer. The Post I made was "Since I was one of those that got tagged in there, I can just say that I will not partake in any Anti Israel Pro Hamas Propaganda, and I will most certainly not forget what Hamas did Oct 7th like a lot of these ppl seem to do." I now see that the way I phrased it made it seem like I feel that the attacks on Palestinian Civilians were/are justified, and that is not what I meant, and I am deeply sorry about that. Edit: To make it clear I am against the Israel Government and Netanyahu, just like I am against Hamas. I am pro ceasefire now.
On June 25th I had to face the consequences in my Discord. A lot of ppl came in and confronted me about it. When the first ppl joined and started the confrontation, I did knee jerked again and banned the first three of them, because one of them insulted me and wrote that the attack on Oct 7 was made up. There were a few follow up bans of ppl, who also insulted me, but I did not ban anyone on purpose because they are Pro Palestine. There were also some Posts deleted that should not have been. It was not done by me personally, but I was also not fast enough and clear minded enough to stop it and I could not undo it, so I apologise for that as well.
I locked the Server down in the End, because it was 3 am for me and I was, and still am, very overwhelmed and exhausted, and the Server will stay down for a while. This is the latest Statement I made, and I know it will not be enough for everyone and I respect that.
"I did not mean to seem to take a stance that seems like I am pro-Israel as if I believe this is all their land (a Zionist). I do not want to condone the violence happening in the country right now or pretend that Palestinian lives don't matter. It was never intended in what I said. I did not mean to phrase things in a way that make me seem to be against the problems palestinians are facing in Gaza. I inserted myself into something I don't know enough about or how to talk about in an educated way, so I should have better not said anything at all. I am sorry that I did. I do feel it is wrong that some people feel like what happened on October 7 is fake and I have already had people say it is. I have banned people who have said so while attacking me. That is wrong. Those people died and it's sad, so too it is sad the people who are dying over the military actions of Israel in attacking the groups who did this causing a loss of Palestinian life without considering who will be hurt. I am not a Zionist. I am just someone who felt sickened by what happened in the attacks last year and didn't like how I see some people pretending that is all a hoax."

You wouldn’t know since you’ve made it clear that you don’t care, but many people fighting for Palestine have been doing so long before this conflict became “mainstream”. Back when most in the West didn’t know there was a conflict. So no, that’s not true at all and a garbage take. People (including the creator you were responding to) DO care about issues in other countries. Rest assured, you are the minority here. Most people care about those outside of their own tiny bubble. I wasn’t around for this shit show and just planned to skim it while catching up on updates but that trash take really needed to be responded to.

What you said in your initial post didn't sound like "Zionism" to me (people use the term inaccurately these days). It sounded like you were anti Hamas and appalled by the heartbreaking attrocities committed on Oct 7. This does not mean you support the fascist genocidal Israeli government. I'm an Israeli Jew, and I've been fighting to end the occupation and genocide in Gaza and to hold "my" government accountable for year now. I also have a friend who lost their mother, father and uncle on Oct 7. So you see, any worthy person in the world knows that you can be against targeting civilian bystanders regardless of nationality. Being anti Hamas and anti fascist governments in Israel are not mutually exclusive, this is not a football game and not an 80's cartoon, the world is more complex than that. I'm more proud than ever to be a devout fan of you and your work. Thank you for everything, and I'm very sorry people who are inferior to you have targeted you in such a juvenile way. Everyone believes their opinion is so crucial that if you disagree with them, you are wrong and should be silenced and deserve to be punished to the fullest. As someone older, I can say that your opinion, one way or the other, doesn't affect my respect for you or my love of your mods. I respect people's opinions even if I disagree. But, it ought to, at the very least, entitle you to more (not less) than what those who merely benefit from all that you do in exchange for nothing can expect—which is to form opinions (which is a process that takes place over time), to express yourself, and to make mistakes. What is agreed upon in Discord servers for mods for The Sims 4 does not determine public policy on garbage collection, much less weighty world affairs and complex historical dilemmas. We can have different perspectives on the world out there and still be kind to one another in our own world in here—where it really is what we make of it. To those who seek to bring real life's problems into these spaces, where we are breathing life into our imagined worlds and getting away from all that nonsense, I have only one thing to say: take your speeches, polemics, slogans, and chants to someone with the means to do something about it. Leave the lady kindly making our video game better in her spare time alone, EVEN IF you profoundly disagree with her.

I’m sometimes shocked by all the hateful comments about people in Israel, I personally think they have the right to exist. BUT I think that, if you are really not a Zionist you should clearly say that you are against Israel government and Netanyahu. The Oct 7th happened, but Netanyahu and Zionists are as responsible as the Hamas.

That has nothing to do with the sims. Im going to download mods that are awesome and make my game fun, regardless of the thoughts of the creator. Im over cancel culture. If people want to take their subscriptions elsewhere and having an un-modded, boring gaming experience, thats on them. More mods for the real Simmers imo

You said nothing wrong. We as people need to respect each other and what we feel. It is our feelings and beliefs. I like the color yellow and you may not like it. It doesn't mean I cancel you. You may be a Jehovah's Witness and I don't want their beliefs but that doesn't negate you as a PERSON. You may love our current administration and I can't stand them it doesn't mean you're a bad person. You are an individual. I need to respect you and what you stand for even if I don't. To live together we have to respect each other. I agree with what you stated. I also agree that most people who are speaking have no clue about the history of that situation. Those canceling and talking about not hating yet are hating themselves. Don't apologize to these people being mean to you. You just give them power. Instead, stand your ground and who you are. You will lose followers either way. Even if I did not agree with you, I wouldn't cancel you. Allow the dust to settle and those who claim to be good people let them go. Those who are good people, will respect your stance and stick with you because you create awesome Mods. Your opinion on this has nothing to do with that. One day people will understand that our differences are what makes us who we are. Each of us and our thoughts is what carries this country...this world. But what I got distracted from saying is, that if no one says anything bc we believe we aren't educated enough, then I dint think anyone would ever say anything. I appreciate you clarifying (tho I didn't see anything before this post) & just hope you're willing to learn from this experience :) I know I'll be learning - and if my opinion on the war in Gaza is wrong, please lmk - I'm human too and would love to learn if I'm wrong! That's all we can really do is learn from our mistakes 💙

The sad reality is that we humans have such a difficult time getting along with each other. The issues of Israel and Gaza go way back before many commenting were even born.
