New Billing Method

You may have seen that Patreon now offers a new payment method named subscription billing and this is Patreon's short explanation of it ---> ''Subscription billing lets you charge new patrons monthly on the same date they joined''
So basically, you’ll be charged when you join, then monthly on that same date instead of the 1st of the month. For example, if you became a patron on October 7, you will be charged on November 7. You will no longer be charged twice when pledging near the end of a month. But, existing patrons won’t see any changes, and are still charged on the 1st of the month( this is not something I do, it is in the content of the new method.). Also, the change is permanent, so I won’t be able to switch back to my current billing model once I switch to new.
Always being charged on the same day can be more advantageous in controlling the transactions, on the other hand, it may also be good to have no double charge event and cc creation not constrained by timings. So, I wanted to ask you all which one you think is best, monthly charge upfront or subscription billing.
