E.T. gets covered an awful lot...but that doesn't mean it's always covered well. Far from it -- and the same applies to the events surrounding it, specifically the video game crash in North America. Now that it's unfortunately easier than ever to produce complete garbage about this game and this period in gaming history, I thought I'd try and do something good. Enjoy!

Excellent work Kim. It always felt a bit strange that one game caused a crash and this explains everything. Hopefully it goes some way to dispelling the rumours.

2025-03-14 20:26:57 +0000 UTCBefore we even start I want to say I never considered this a bad game. It did something unique for the time by trying to make a complex game. Unlike all the other Atari games that were little more than simple arcadey types.
