2025-12-27 09:54:31 +0000 UTCThis scene always gets me so much. The one where we see a closeup of Doakes's face after having been forced to witness Dexter's TRUE and unfiltered face. Pure disgust and shock, just like his father. I don't think any individual with empathy would be able to witness such a scene and not feel utterly gutted. We often get "used" to dexter's routine because it is edited, and there's music and all. But there are these rare perfectly film moments like that instant, where we get to be in Doakes's shoes. And actually witness Dexter's true face. A kill with no empathy. What he does despite fitting a "code" is horrifying.
