I actually redrew this so many times — it was seriously a tough one to finish… 😭
This was the first rough sketch, and I went ahead and finished it, but...

…Somehow it just doesn’t look cute… 🥹

But I can’t figure out what’s wrong. Am I just off today…??

There are days when nothing turns out right no matter what you draw.

The more you try to fix it, the worse it gets…

A very classic artist struggle...

Hmm… should I redraw it...?

So I did—and here’s the redrawn version:

It’s even worse than before!!!!!!

Somehow the emotion just isn’t coming through…

That’s no good for merch meant for fans!

Maybe the problem isn’t the face… is it the body…?

No… that’s not it…
Everything’s just bad… I suck too much, haha… 😇

At this point, the whole direction is wrong!
If that’s the case, I’ll just start over from scratch and take a totally different approach!

Maybe deep down I wanted to make her look a bit younger since she’s based on you-know-who.
But someone’s gonna say, “Act your age~…” 😭😭

So—time to redraw it again!

Changing the coloring style really worked!

This just proves that when you're having an off day, nothing goes right no matter what you do.

After lots of tweaks like this, she finally turned out cute —the “Doujin Artist-chan” acrylic stand!

I’d be so happy if you brought her home and give her lots of love!!

◆ About the New Summer Comiket Doujin – Shigure Ui Book

The new book is a Uimm book! Yeah, you knew that, right?

I was all fired up like, “I’m gonna do very bad things and put her through hell again this time~!”
…but somehow, it ended up more like, “Shigure Ui is simply a lewd lady…” kind of vibe. 🤔

It’s still in progress, but here’s a little sneak peek! It's in Japanese tho, sorry!!

A story where she hides the fact that she’s “Shigure Ui” and plays around on a private alt account… only to end up in a terrible situation!!
