If you choose the latter, you'll experience a total of seven phases of a fire erupting from a deep, deep hole atop the mountain. Once it reaches the top, it begins burning everyone around it. The eruption is so powerful that the standing stones cannot withstand it, and the ancient tree is set ablaze.
When your party sees the red glow from the distance, they must hurry and attempt to stop the evil forces from unleashing a fire elemental, a phoenix, or perhaps a fiend from a distant plane. Depending on their speed, they might arrive at a different stage of the process. If it's too late, they may attempt to find cover behind the standing stones... at their own peril.
