Not everything is sold at the great market in the town's square; some vendors don't have a license to sell, some don't have the money, and some are even selling counterfeit products.
Whether the party is harrassed by thugs for haggling too much or intimidating the merchants, this area serves as a claustrophobic zone for a combat encounter. You can run in several directions, enemies can come from just as many, and civilians are in the way. How will the encounter play out?
There are three extra variants:
night for when the party is lost on their way back to the inn
gloomy for when the town is not the nicest the party has visited
winter for exploring the urban zones of the cold north
