[#161] Ludwig's High School Love Stories | Wine About It

QT and Ludwig episode! In Utah, QT and Lud talk what they've been up to, Ludwig's crazy high school dance stories, and old pictures of ex's... also don't ask Ludwig about his white shorts.

Comments

Ludwig comparing being ‘king of the children’ at qt’s family gettogethers to streaming is so funny

Bob's Burgers is the best and absolutely makes me funnier Also my parents didn't give me any support for my dental health either and I didn't go to the dentist from the age of 9 to 22 and I got judged by people when I had to get additional procedures for deep cleaning and got judged for that by peers and the dentists themselves. It's not a good feeling.

Came from YT to say your bones definitely do grow and can grow back. They regenerate and are shaved down internally and over time you lose the ability to grow your bone and lose your bone density aka osteoporosis. When you break your arm you have a break and it grows back yk, that's why you need a cast or pins to make sure they grow back correctly. Your blood grows in your bones and you blood basically heals in a really simplified sense. Bodies are weird ASF. Anyways lmao

Fun facts from Ludwig’s shedding biology questions. We do essentially “molt” but we are doing it so consistently that you don’t notice. Instead of one big layer of dead skin every once in a while you are shedding 10s of thousands of skin cells every day. Reptiles skin is much harder for their protection but that also limits growth so they have to shed in their growing phases. Same with some insects and crustaceans. It allows them to grow without being constaNtly soft and squishy. As far as “how much can we lose” and have it grow back, depends on what you’re losing and why you lost it. Skin has a short turnover so we have a lot more leeway to lose it from scrapes and scratches and still have it replaced good as new by essentially just filling in the lost cells with new ones. But for most organs they can grow, but actually building from scratch it’s really an optional once it’s lost, they can do damage repair to varying degrees (the liver can do a lot more than neurons) but regeneration is a tough ask. ~Biomedical Science MS
