What If...Cat Grant Became Super?

In the early seasons of Supergirl, Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant acted as a light-hearted foil for Kara. But what if the boss of CATCO actually got an upgrade?

When Kara arrives late for work one day due to her secret duties as Supergirl, Cat gives her a hard time for it:

"And I'm already snowed under as it is!" she cried. "Oh, sometimes I wish I had the powers of Supergirl just to get through it all."

As Kara walked out of the office she also whispered to herself: "And I wish I didn't have them so I could just live a normal life."

As soon as they each innocently made their wishes, both felt weirdly different. Kara grabbed hold of her chair and was now weakened. Meanwhile, Cat was stronger than ever. She called Kara in again, who, astonished, could see her boss grow slightly bigger and more muscular until her arms started ripping through her sleeves. Cat then grabbed her shirt and tore it open, revealing Kara's red cape and blue supersuit beneath with the red S symbol pushing forth.

It was then that Mr. Mxyzptlk suddenly appeared beside her.

"You? What have you done now?!" asked Kara.

"Just a little dyad spell. See, when two people make wishes that so closely align at the same time in the same place, it's like magic," he explained.

"Switch it back before it's too late."

"No can do, Kara. The only way this can be undone is if both wish it at the same time again, and I'm afraid your boss is having too much fun..."

Sure enough, Cat Grant was both thrilled and shocked at her super change and now floated above her desk.

"Can you believe this, Kara? I feel rejuvenated! In fact, I even look a little younger. This is fantastic as now I'll be able to-"

She stopped for a moment then, turning her head and listening intentenly.

"Wow, I can hear everything! Including someone who needs help... I guess this is a job for, no, not Supergirl, but Superwoman!"

With that, she flew straight through the wall of her office only to subsequently come back moments later to check out the damage she'd just made, becoming a little embarrassed as a result.

"Opps! Guess I have to get used to my new powers!" she said. "Kara, be a dear and call maintenence and get them to fix that for me, will you? Oh, and I want it done before I get back. More than ever, you don't want to get on my bad side," she said with a smirk before blasting away across the sky again.

Kara just looked sternly at Mr. Mxyzptlk.

"Mondays, am I right?!" he laughed back at her while nervously shrugging his narrow, little shoulders.
