Walkthrough Update (v0.5.3)

Hey everyone,
this is just a quick note to let you all know that the walkthrough has been updated to v0.5.3! I know some of you had trouble finding the new branches over the past updates, and I was a bit slow on writing about it, but it was important for me to see how many people would be able to reach it without my help.

Well... I understand it's a bit difficult to find the new branches, but that opens up an interesting dilemma about the game. I want the player to just explore and find branches naturally, but... that's not what all players want, and it seems as the game grows, especially new players are now starting to get confused on this.

So... Starting with the next version, I'm going to experiment with more ways to give hints to players who really really want them. I've started this by introducing a new legacy item in v0.5.3 - the hourglass. It contains a map of all the endings, but there are no tips yet. I'm thinking of using this as a sort of "hint"-item. I don't want players to feel like this is the only way to experience the game though.

And also, we'll soon get to the part where the out-of-branch-gameplay will get some work, mainly the ally story and the ability to fully transform the others.
I'm sure these will all drastically change the overall gameplay, but there might still be things that I can do to improve the new player experience. I'll have to think about it.

I do like exploration, but I also don't have the time to do multiple replays to try different potential pathing options and hope I find one of the alternatives. So I definitely like the idea of hints that could give me an indication of going down different paths... short of that, I've done a few playthroughs w/o the guide, but had to consult it to really test out more of the different endings. The standard Asian path was pretty easy for me to figure out. I did NOT get the magical girl miniquest at all w/o the guide. I still get stuck on "escaping" paths.. I think there's quite a bit of criteria sometimes to escape, and I often don't do it right. I think in my early playthroughs I tried to "attack" everyone early on, which may have restricted what paths were available...? I can't remember anymore. I did the standard Abigail path w/o a guide, but needed to look the guide up to better understand and get all the liquid overdose ends. I'm still learning the maid paths.. but I remember last month I constantly wondered if I had triggered the path already. I think the path took quite a long time to trigger for me, and I kept tiptoeing around all the other characters so as to not accidentally active their path.. and looking up the guide to see if I had missed something. Katelyn kept bumping into me and talking, but it took a long time before the "path" was triggered. Is the trigger her RNG or based after 'x' # of encounters? Also from what I understand, the two diff paths will depend on if i'm nice or mean to her..? But I bump into her a few times, so I wasn't sure if I had to keep being nice, keep being mean, or what happened if I mixed it up. Also I could never seem to get Abigail to help me, so not sure what I was missing there. Again, not as familiar w/ this path yet as I haven't had the time to do many playthroughs to really "discover" it. Actually, you can't do multiple paths at the same time, can you? If I trigger Abigail's path, can I still get the maid path later? [edit: skimmed guide and Abigaile has to be my ally.. so by purposely avoiding her path in fear of excluding the maid path, I was not able to make her my ally.. and thus my inability to have her hypnotize me. hmmm... missed that one completely!]

You need to have the stats maxed before the asylum effects begin.

I can't seem to trigger the asylum no matter what :( I did get the "side effect" from DUM for example multiple times, but then Abs just says we used up all samples and I'm being set on cow branch and even if I avoid it, I eventually get one of the "normal" job endings.
