I'm back

Hey everyone,
I'm back from my vacation and already working full-speed on the next update again. My holidays were a great way to relieve stress. As you may have seen I actually did work for a few days in between, but that's just who I am, I guess.
Unfortunately, now that I'm back home, I do have to work through a nasty jetlag, but I'm sure it's going to go away in a few days. I'm falling asleep at like 5 or 6 in the evening and waking up at 4 am right now, so it's not like the end of the world, but it's an inconvenience because I'll have to try to normalize a bit and not start working first thing in the morning. That makes things a little more complicated.

So, what's the plan? Well... in about two weeks I want to release the Alpha of v0.5.2, and I still have a lot to do until then. You can check out the progress report from two weeks ago to see what will be in it. Since I'm trying to make up some time here, it might not be finished in exactly two weeks, but sometime around that mark.

And as for Femdemic, it's planned to be released on Steam and itch.io at around the same time as the new Alpha should be released, but I'm not sure on the exact timeline right now since finishing two releases in such a short amount of time seems downright impossible. But we'll see how it goes. Femdemic is almost complete after all. Just a bit more polishing. Well.. polishing always takes the most time, but I'm very happy with the current state of the game. Oh yeah, I uploaded v0.9.0 yesterday, which includes some drastic balancing changes. After that, I fell asleep almost immediately.

Okay.. time for me to get to work soon.

Hope you enjoyed the substitute content of the last few weeks. I'm actually thinking about commissioning a few more comics. Would that be something you'd like to see? I might do a poll on that at some point.

Potential bug, when it reports how many people were infected while the game was off it doesn't actually seem to reduce the amount of uninfected men by that amount. This may or may not be causing strains to end with fewer total infections I can't tell.

Welcome back! <3 Now that I see people are saying the balancing is great I have to ask: Am I playing the game wrong? With my current speed, it'd take me months to take over the world let alone get close to picking any of the specializations I am interested in. Vaccine development still happens (relatively) instantly after mutating so why do I even bother with the first ~10 mutations?

Yes. It‘s not impossible without the perks. It‘s just very rare.

Okay I need to ask what is a shiny mutation, as referenced by the rare perk that makes them more likely? Is there a third tier of mutation that I just haven't seen because it's rare or impossible without this perk?

Glad you enjoyed your vacation, I'm starting up a .9.0 run to see how it feels compared to .8.1. I definitely agree the game's mostly in a great place and getting very close to 'this would be nice to add' stuff rather than 'this needs to be fixed' stuff.
