V0.5 Content Poll

Hey everyone,

V0.4 is soon coming to an end. We have V0.4.6 as the final release coming next month and then we're on to V0.5, which is currently planned to contain Katelyn's ally quest and side branches. This is basically the same as version 0.3 contained the Himari content, and 0.4 did the same for Abi.

Makes sense to continue this trend for 0.5 of course, especially because the main story endings kind of rely on all the other content being there. For example, as I've said many times, the main ending is related to the player allying up with all contestants, and the bad main endings for when the show is over are related to what branches the player was on before.

However, over the past few months, I have gotten some feedback on the main game not having much new content. That makes sense, because I've been focusing on the side branches, and those may not even be found by people who only look at the game rarely. I specifically got the feedback that it looked like there were only a bunch of new clothes and nothing else. I do believe that I've refactored a lot of the main content, esepcially additional TFs, enough so that it also affects the general gameplay, but at some point, over the next patches that might not always be the case. We're slowly getting closer to having all main TFs finished.

So I thought about the possibility to develop some of the main story content before the foundation of the side branches is finished. Basically, I could do the Katelyn ally quest next, and postpone her branches for later, and then focus on the main story instead. I'm not saying that that would be 100% better, quite the opposite, it would mean I'd have to reschedule art and replan a lot of things, but it could lead to a better feeling of development progress for the players, especially including new players I assume. It would also lead to more of the sex positive stuff coming out more clearly a bit faster.

The ability to do this also relies a bit on the time our artists have over the next months though, since it is always very situational how much they can each month, and there is a ton of stuff needed for the main story content. However, I could try it.
The question is, how many people actually feel like that is a step that we would really profit from.

Now, don't think that there will be no new main story content at all. I originally planned to end V0.4 with V0.4.5, but I already interjected V0.4.6 as a main story patch with several dialogs for ally characters, new end of week shows, and events for Erica.
But after planning out the patches, I realized how fast time flies, and that people might want that content sooner.

So... let me know what you think. Do you trust my original plan, or do you agree that I should get that main story out faster?

Best,
Rel

Your original plan I'm guessing is like Baldur's Gate 3. Implement all the important stuff and then move forward the main quest. I say go for that since I love what those people are doing.

I am a bit anxious to see some more end of week unique wheel spins. But that is my only minor complaint. Overall I really enjoy the game and how it’s progressing.

I think those comments are not coming from subscribers, but from free version users. It's also not like I get hundreds of those comments every day. I just noticed a slight uptick.

I trust your original plan, but if you start hemorrhaging Patreon subscribers because of 'lack of content updates' then I'd suggest switching gears. Less subs will slow down art production, right?

Katelyn in general needs some love, if I'm honest. Maybe I'm misguided, but in this circumstance it feels like the characters around the house are the foundation that the plot needs to rest on.

Iamnooneinparticular

I think it's smarter to get the side content in and paced out now rather than make more progress on the story that you might decide needs to change when you get to actually implementing katelyn's content.

Phaos

I feel like the companion quests are huge on the content. This game just feels jacked full and you continue to add goodies and optional ends.

I think as the developer, you'll have the best roadmap on how to deliver content appropriately. It's best for you and the game to go with your gut. I suggest going with your hybrid option. People can wait for content. For example, carry on delivering Katelyn's ally quest (at a slower pace), but coincide that release with an extra week inside the house. So for example another wheelspin. Two birds with one stone maybe?
