Ok so the lockdown happened because they suspected Nick had the gun as it was not in his dad car, they suspect he knows something about the fire that burned down the sets at his dad’s warehouse that only Nick or his dad had access to at the time, they knew he was in school because both Mariana and Jesus had seen him there and Mariana said that he acting off and he probably would have pulled the gun out at her had the teacher had not interrupted in most cases a lockdown is mandatory if they believe someone is at the school with a weapon and if they wait until they hear a gunshot someone might be dead and no one knew that Nick wasn’t at school anymore we the viewers didn’t know that either until we saw him at the Fosters home. I understand you believe that this lockdown was done poorly and you are entitled to your opinions but if a lockdown saves someone life it outweighs the consequences of waiting too long
