This does have some crossover stuff with both shows, and you should be able to easily find recommended watch orders like Buffy/angel. But this show doesn’t have as many back and forth as Buffy/angel so it doesn’t matter as much, a plot line in 1 may effect the other, ect. But not much character crossover. Originals S1 doesn’t start until start of 5th season of vampire diaries. Last episode of season 4 is when they basically are done on vampire and following season is the 5x1/1x1 ect time to start the back and forth.
