You state, "I love this show because everybody acts like its real."
Then when a sophomore breaks up with her boyfriend who hasn't been showing up for dates, been missing appointments, leaving her when they do meet up and actively lying to her for more than a solid month (he started when he didn't show up for a date, which happened before his dad left). And let's be fair a month for a Sophomore is a lot longer than a month for an adult relationship.
Yes Sarah kissed or was kissed (we still don't know details about the kiss) someone else. But she was honest about it. When she saw that person later, she was honest about it.
I don't always like Sarah as a character, but in this she is absolutely right.
In real life. If you are supposed to be serious with someone (regardless of the stage of seriousness), being lied to. Being stood up, not being where you say you're going to be. And in all cases never giving a valid reason or talking about that reason is a massive, massive red flag.
Now if he gave her a valid excuse. That would be different. But when pressed for details he says he can't without any qualifiers. Thats that. She did exactly what a reasoned person should do. She tried to get more details and when meet with refusal she simply ended it. That's an exceptionally adult thing to do (something I don't usually say about Sarah). And her kissing another doesn't give Jordan a get out of jail for a month of wrong doing and with it still continuing with no end in sight. Thats incredibly unhealthy.
Just because we know Jordan is actually doing a good thing, and that he has a valid reason for his lies doesn't negate that for Sarah that's not the case. She has no knowledge about any of this. She just see's someone who has basically abandoned her just shortly after her parents split, a time when she does need him more than normal.
And here is the real kicker. Jordan is already lying to her and has done so for a year and a half. Are you that stupid, kid. Just create a lie that is vague that holds enough real truth to it to be valid. Can it be done? Literally when he was talking to his brother earlier this is what I cane up with, took about thirty seconds. And I was absolutely able to lie like this at 15 and 16.
So if it I was Jordan, and with what the Sarah does know about my life. I would have stated, things with my Dad (they know he's been gone as an investigative journalist on a story that can't be talked about and has ben gone for a month) and my Grandpa (whom they know ran and is connected to the DOD) is the reason this is happening and I can't say anything else.
Done and done. Believable excuse, extra responsibilities at home and a reporter and a general who have to deal with keeping secrets one on a national security level.
Straight up valid reason for everything, without given any details at all about being a hero in training.
Sarah would have a reason to believe, and in general would understand oaths to parents/ family let alone a General who has recently worked to help save your town and your father from a kryptonian invasion would be a something he couldn't open up about.
