I just keep reminding myself she is only 17 years old, some characters I just don't expect that much from. I am confused why you don't think she loves Stefan, she just risked her life trying to find him. I don't see how not wanting to see Damon get hurt is not a valid reason to stop. Yes he's a vampire who can take care of himself but so is Stefan, and Elena clearly thinks they both need protection to some degree. Perhaps you mean she loves and cares for him but is not totally inlove anymore? Then I would agree.
