the season mysteries and cases of the week are what makes this show fun to watch for me. but i do agree, there are few likable characters on the show. most of them are deeply flawed, cruel, and manipulative. and yes, everything that annalise does from the moment she discovers sam's body is to cover her tracks and provide herself an alibi. going to nate's house to have sex with him, repeatedly calling sam's phone and leaving voicemails saying she's sorry and wants to work on the marriage, calling bonnie to ask if sam is with her, involving the cops the next day to tell them her husband is missing....all of it is to give her an alibi so that no one will suspect she has any involvement in what really happened to him. it also protects wes and the others who were involved.
