I'm on the ballerina's side. Nothing wrong at all w constructive criticism but Rory's article just sounds like she was attacking the ballerina - fat rolls under the bra strap and everything. It does NOT sound like a professional article. She literally called the girl a hippo. None of that was constructive. And it didn't seem like she was critiquing the ballet show itself but specifically the ballerina and even more specifically the ballerina's physical attributes. Also, the Yale paper is not like a local high school paper. It's highly regarded and for people like Rory and Paris who want to be professional journalists It's an important stepping stone towards that career. I totally understand the ballerina being so angry. Not only was she fat shamed, it was done publicly to the point where members of the public outside of Yale itself could read it and it affected the shows sales so much it closed early. This was just a mean article.
