riley was my first time seeing a gay character on tv that i can remember (i started degrassi around this time and it was before i went back and watched the beginning), so even if i question his character a lot, i will always have a soft spot for him. I'm sure i knew what gay was before, but i guess he's my first time understanding what gay really is. And as a lesbian, i just sympathize with his story a lot.

I don’t even know what words to use to describe Riley but I feel bad for him. but I’m happy that at least he has peter & anya to be with him along the way, his friendship with both of them are some of my favorites from degrassi. and that scene in the ravine has always made me feel uncomfortable too 😭
