It's been a while but they mentioned in the first episode that Mariana got straight A's. They just didn't really mention it again for a while or elaborate much.

We have always known she is very persistent in all areas of her life and likes to be at the top so honestly I can't see her as someone who gets bad grades at all or accepts failure in general lol. And her being smart is actually something very important for her character that even carries over to the spinoff
