I agree. Hm, I haven't thought about that. He did know Emily protected her because he was the one that asked her to protect Katherine in the first place. He definitely should have figured it out that Katherine was still alive, so you're right that storyline kind of doesn't make sense. He was probably having a slow moment ๐

2025-03-26 04:35:29 +0000 UTCTrue, Damon did show some interest in Elena in the very beginning, but at that time he was still deeply inlove with Katherine and trying to bring her back. While Stefan didn't seem to have this fixation with her and his feelings ended once he became a vampire. Or perhaps it's because he thought she died while Damon knew she was still alive. And then both brothers ironically end up falling for Elena because of how opposite she is to Katherine. Now that I think about it, Damons whole 'let me die Stefan, I won't turn into a vampire, I have no reason to live' storyline makes no sense. Did he know Katherine was protected by Emily and didn't actually die or did he find that out later?

At the beginning Damon was stalking Elena and watching her sleep when he didn't even know her, all because she looked like Katherine and he was already falling for her just like Stefan imo. I'm not a Caroline and Matt shipper, so I do think they dragged their relationship way too much. It was clear from the beginning their relationship wasn't going to work because Caroline being a vampire and having to always lie and hide her vampire life and Matt being insecure.

I think for me Elena and Stefan feel off also because it seems like he only fell for her because she looks like Katherine. That's why he HAD to get to know her. xD

I wouldn't say Bonnie and Jeremy's relationship was too slow, but there was still a nice build up unlike Stefan and Elena ๐ I love Stefan and Elena but I do hate how fast they got together and how fast they said they loved each other ๐ญ I really wish the writers waited longer to do both of those. Aww thank you, I love your takes as well. I feel like we usually agree on most topics :)

I don't understand what you mean that he's similar to Mason. Arrow guy had to die to do Arrow. :D every reactor I've seen had a big reaction to him, perhaps I should check that show out. His death was lame, 17yr Elena Gilbert tricked him 3 times in the span of like 5mins lol

I think in that moment he should've at least released Caroline who's been kidnapped and tortured without hesitation. ๐ I wouldn't expect him to fight against the wolves right away, but I think part of Carolines anger is that he just stood and looked at her in a damn cage. xD Freeing her should've been an easy decision, unless he was afraid she'd kill someone right away. Can sympathise with Matt too, for a while now he's been seeing Caroline get weirdly close to Tyler, not explaining anything..then she proceeds to stand him up and pretend she was with Bonnie, and AGAIN she gets a weird intense interaction with Tyler. We know what actually happened and it's not her fault, but from Matts side it must look dodgy af.

At least their feelings and relationship was slower and happened more naturally than Stefan and Elena's lmfao. I love Stefan and Elena together but that was a little shade about their relationship considering they started dating and said "I love you" way too soon ๐ I'm so annoyed with John's character ๐ he wants people to like and be nice to him so bad, but he's constantly stirring up drama just because he's miserable and no one likes him. You're right about Elijah, he really is fire. He's my favorite original. I love his character so much!! I agree with Stefan's point over Elena's tbh. I do agree that Elena sacrificing herself would be *a little* heroic but I believe it would be more tragic. Like Stefan said he's been alive for over 100 years, so has Damon and her wanting to save them doesn't necessarily make sense when they have lived several decades and her life is just kind of starting. She's easily giving up on herself, when everyone wants her to fight to stay alive. Being 17 years old and sacrificing yourself for vampires who have lived for decades is crazy and weird imo ๐ญ I respect what Tyler said to Matt, at least Tyler cleared it up to Matt for Caroline because she sure as hell didn't when she had plenty of chances to do so.

2025-03-25 17:44:46 +0000 UTCI get why Matt annoys you because of the way he treats/talks to Caroline, but I think sometimes his feelings are valid especially in this episode and you're a little too hard on his character. Matt is on the outside of everything, he doesn't know anything about her double life as a vampire and what she goes through. I kind of feel like you punish his character for something he doesn't even know about, which isn't his fault at all. From Matt's side Caroline has been leading him on and then avoiding him and/or standing him up ever since the beginning of their relationship when their supposed to be together, all while recently she's been hanging out and helping Tyler and all Matt has been seeing is that she's avoiding him but being with Tyler. So it actually makes sense why he feels neglected or led on by her. I don't blame him for being upset at Caroline, especially because he always catches her in lies that she could easily avoid by just being honest with him. I love Caroline's character more than Matt's, but she is playing with his feelings right now and acting dumb about it and all he wants is her to be honest with him. I would be mad at Caroline too tbh.
