2025-02-16 23:38:58 +0000 UTCSo part of the reason the Joey and Pacey thing took SOOOO long was cuz the writers didn't know who Joey was gonna end up with, they couldn't make a decision themselves (they were breaking the fourth wall a bit with Dawson struggling with the ending as well). It was actually Joshua Jackson (Pacey) and Katie Holmes (Joey) who advocated like hell and convinced the writers to have Joey end up with Pacey and thank god for that tbh.

Then before the finale they needed to not be together. The show was setup as a triangle, who will she choose in the finale. They didn’t want her with Pacey going into finale cause then it wouldn’t have had that big decision to make. They wanted that mystery and shock value

It was approx 15 years after show ended and they got together for a hour special. It’s on YouTube, just search Dawson’s creek reunion and should be easy to find. Would love to see react to that.
