I understand Tyler here too, his uncle was murdered, Caroline was lying so he didn't know who he could trust...Stefan and Damon aren't his friends so he's under no obligation to help them or stop Jules's pack from harming them after what they did to Mason. But what they did to Caroline is messed up, the way she was tortured.. and then the one person who could free her hesitated, after all she did for him, she risked her life just to support him...she was emotional and hurt, I don't blame her at all for letting it all out at Tyler. She might need to calm down before she can see things from a different perspective, but I think it's too much to ask of her after the day she had to be reasonable. I like that Stefan was the one who brought the girls to her, it made for a good surprise moment, and Stefan was the one who heard over the phone what Caroline was going through so it makes sense for him to be the one to insist that Caroline is not fine and needs some extra support.

I'm so tired of John, I also hate his character lol. One thing I never understood about his character was why Elena, Jenna and Jeremy hated him from the very beginning because they never really said why. I can understand why as of now because he's against the vampires and Elena and Jeremy know that but I really wish they would have said why they hated him before they knew of the supernatural.
I have a love/hate relationship with Tyler's character but during this episode I was on his side (not about his new friends torturing Caroline though) I hated how they made Tyler the bad guy when Damon killed his uncle and Stefan, Caroline and everyone else in their circle knew about it. I didn't care for Mason but he didn't deserve to die, Damon picked a fight with him all because he thought Mason was a threat and he wasn't at the time Damon thought he was. Damon was just paranoid and took it out on Mason.
So Tyler picking Jules side and being against Caroline, Stefan and Damon made sense to me because Caroline (a girl he knew since forever) knew of their plans of murdering his uncle and she lied and acted like she didn't know anything about it all while being in his face talking about being friends and caring for him. I love Caroline's character and she's one of my favorite ones but that was messed up on her part. I hated how she yelled at Tyler for picking the others sides, claiming she wanted to "protect him", in my opinion she really wanted to protect Stefan and Damon the most.
Damon's line "uh...that'd be me" and pointing to himself after the man asked who killed Mason was one of my favorite parts from this episode 😂 What Stefan did for Caroline when he showed up with Bonnie and Elena was so cute! I love that Stefan cares about Elena's friends, well mostly Caroline and Bonnie. I'm pretty sure Stefan was there because he was their ride to Caroline's house. What you said about Bonnie's powers, I don't think they work like that where she can't sense her friends feelings, but that would be cool lol.
