The Vampire Diaries "Kill or Be Killed" 2x5 Reaction (Brian Reaction Pick)

I both agree and disagree on your take about Mason, I really like his character. Damon was definitely in the wrong for threatening Mason, cause at that point it seemed like Masons offer for peace was genuine. Unfortunately that's just how Damon is, and Masons response to him was totally justified. But when it comes to Stephen, no matter how wrong Damon is, Stephen will always protect him and have his back. So once Stephen realised Damon is in danger, he made the threat to Mason in order to intimidate him, I think he was hoping Mason would realise odds are against him and back off. But instead Mason responded that he no longer wants peace, which again, is understandable. But what it meant to Stephen in that moment is 'Mason is after me and my brother, he wants us dead'.. so he wasn't going to give Mason the opportunity to act on his anger. Besides it's in their DNA, werewolves and vampires are wired to kill eachother. The vervain in lemonade was 100% intentional by Mason to expose them, just few moments ago he told the Sheriff he can prove the brothers are vampires, so that's how he did it, it wasn't a coincidence. He knew sheriffs next move would be to kill them, so Mason really is the one who tried to eliminate Damon and Stephen first. Even though Masons side is very understandable here, now that he crossed that line and tried to kill them, you can no longer deny the brothers can't just become peaceful with him. :)
