Sherlock Holmes was published in the late 1887 - 1927 and as Kristal said, yes House is modeled after Sherlock. House = Sherlock, Wilson = Watson.
The original book Watson was also a veteran and actually an Afghanistan veteran, back then between the Brits and the Afghans (1878 - 1880).
Moriarty first appeared in a short story published in 1893, but he's become the go-to nemesis for Sherlock in modern interpretations, like Lex Luthor to Superman or Joker to Batman.

Yes house is a Sherlock adaption - House and Holmes (get it) in House his best friend is Wilson. (Aka Dr Watson)
Psych is another adaptation (Lassie/ Lassiter is a reference to Lestrade) they made him obnoxious in a different way he’s still an ass but it’s more of a humorous take. But the attention to details is the same in Psych, House, and Sherlock. I love Moriarty and if you continue to watch it we have to avoid spoilers. But this was popular when Doctor who was in its prime and there was a time where people used to combine three shows with fan art. Superwholock : (Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Sherlock.)
