Ask me One Piece - May 2021

So I most definitely did not totally accidentally name the past Ask Me One Piece as "May 2021" as well...

Ehm, eitherway, as always feel free to ask me anything you want to hear about the world of One Piece and I'll answer to my fullest capacity!

Good eye! Yes, you are right. This image of a dot with dots surrounding it has been seen time and time again across the series. And if we look closely, it seems to symbolize the image of a sun. We’ve seen this sun in the Alabasta flag, in Shandian imagery, in the Sun Pirates’ emblem, and in the Kouzuki clan (and by extension mink race) crest. The Kuja flag also sort of resembles a sun, to an extent, though that is debatable since it is based on a gorgon. This pattern is clearly no coincidence, and indicates that there obviously was a connection between all these countries, likely spanning all the way back to the Void Century. In a sense, you could say that this symbol of the sun is what united all of them together. The sun, symbolically, holds a lot of narrative relevance in One Piece, and I definitely think that will play into the bigger story. Time and time again we've been told how the sun is something that connects people, something that will no doubt be very important in the future. It’s something I’ll talk a lot about in my True History Project, so give that a watch if you’re interested once it comes out if you want to see me go more in depth on how it ties to the major general themes of the story at large!

Dear Sir Artur. I apologize, if this is to late to ask a question and also i am not aware, if it is appropriate, but do you think, it is right to asume, the "Logo" of Arabasta Kingdom, the Logo of the Kozuki Clan and the hints shown on Skypia have a connection, as well as a deeper meaning. I am talking about the "dot with the 8 dots around". Sorry for my bad English, i hope you know what i mean. ^^ Have a great day. Arriiiiigaatttttooooouuuuu

Hey! Personally I think the answer is simple: I think that Kaido simply attacked Luffy so hard he sent him flying off the skull rooftop, leaving him unconscious and making him plummet down. That's what Kaido meant by getting too heated up and accidentally knocking off Luffy without taking off his head first. That or alternatively he defeated him, tossed him off, only to regret it afterwards. Regardless though, I don't think him taking the Straw Hat would've meant much. Even if the other saw that, they'd still believe in Luffy being alive. So decapitating him and showing off his head really would be the only way to completely kill off that hope. That's how much the Straw Hats believe in Luffy!

Ohara-San! Hello! My question for this monthis why didn't Kaido take Luffy's straw hat as proof of victory? Would that be Oda riffing off the movies too much, or is there a reason Kaido left the straw hat with Luffy?
