Developer's Thoughts

Hello everyone!

This week I want to address a recurring comment I’ve seen: that Stepping Over Oneself moves too slowly.

First, thank you for your honesty — I truly appreciate every piece of feedback.

I’ll admit, the pacing is deliberate. It’s not a bug — it’s a feature. And no, it’s not about dragging things out for subscriptions. The slower build exists because I want you to really fall in love with the characters — to understand their flaws, their struggles, their addictions, their little imperfections — before the bigger shifts begin.

When betrayal, change, or intimacy finally comes, it should matter. If we rush into it right away, the impact is gone. There are plenty of games where action starts instantly — and honestly, that kills the intrigue. I want this one to be different: to pull you in slowly, layer by layer, until the emotional stakes feel real.

And don’t forget — this is also my story. I can’t just skip the parts that shaped how it all ended. Every “quiet” moment is a step toward the turning points ahead.

So thank you again for being patient, for caring, and for walking this path with me. The payoff is coming — and I think it will be worth it.

Comments

I enjoyed the game and didn't mind the pacing, but honestly, sometimes the dialogue felt a bit redundant, as the characters had a glaring need to drag out the conversation to a point where it was a bit overdone.
