Version 0.03 just dropped a couple of days ago — and I’m already getting tons of feedback. Thank you so much to everyone who's been testing, commenting, criticizing, and showing love! Your support really helps me grow as a developer and storyteller.

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room:
Yes, everyone is saying “Mat is annoying, whiny, and just an overall unpleasant guy.”
And you know what? YES. That’s exactly the point.
Mat is a pathetic, passive, self-absorbed nerd who's slowly wrecking his own relationship because he refuses to grow up or face reality.

And yes, I based him on myself. Maybe even made him a little worse than me 😁

But that’s why the game is called "Stepping Over Oneself".
This is a story about someone who either learns to change — or loses everything.
It's about swallowing your pride, facing your fears, and doing the hard inner work to save what matters before it's too late.

So yeah, I get that some of you dislike Mat. But that’s the whole point.
This isn’t a fantasy about being the perfect boyfriend — it’s a messy, raw journey through failure, miscommunication, and maybe... redemption.

Right now I’m collecting all your feedback to improve everything in version 0.04 — more meaningful choices, better pacing, stronger emotional scenes, and yeah… maybe a little more spice 🔥
