To Summarize...
Added 2023-07-03 06:29:28 +0000 UTC... we have a lot to talk about when it comes to our current circumstances and our vision for Studio Nascosto. Right now we have a handful of amazing patrons who have kept us going (and we are very grateful to you for all you have done thus far), but we aren't making enough to get by right now. Unfortunately, since we have had to take other work, we won't be able to keep up our issue-a-month schedule. Fortunately, this allows us to broaden our vision and begin to make Studio Nascosto what we always meant it to be: an entertainment company, not just a comic company. We have motion comics to make, video games to program, a TTRPG system to play-test, animations to create, standalone graphic novels to hammer out, and, of course, multiple comic series to finish. So we're going to, and we'd like to take you along for the ride!
Another obstacle that has only become more daunting as time goes on is our background artist's health. After a misdiagnosis and consequent decade-plus-long battle with doctors he has finally been diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease. We had hoped to find some way that we could both work from home so he could take care of his health and I could take care of our junior colorist at the same time, but that hasn't worked out quite the way we had planned. Couple this with him going to school online to try to find another avenue to work from home and we've had quite the struggle to organize our time to juggle Nascosto with part-time work.
So, we're reorienting and re-prioritizing. You'll still see your favorite comics from us, but some (like "That Which is Unseen") will be less frequent, and others (like "Bloodhounds") will be released a page or two at a time until we can offer digital downloads of the full issues. The silver lining about this new schedule is that you will see more variety from us. For instance, our first installation of our TTRPG, "Realms of Olenara: Tolodin" is on the horizon, as well as our first chapter of our TWIU spinoff story-game, "A Tale of Happenstance". (If you know anything about Moth's failed romance of Don Jones in the 1950's, this might spark your interest.) And this is only scratching the surface of all of the projects we have in store. As we've said before, we have so many worlds to show you!
We're currently hammering out new tiers --hopefully this is the last reorganization for a long while-- to better reflect where we're headed as a company. For this reason, billing has been paused and we are working on getting refunds sent out. Thank you for your patience as we figure out what in the realms we're doing, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Really, thank you for sticking with us, friends,
Team Studio Nascosto
