Noble Races: Unicorn Mane and Tail

Unicorns, in order to maintain balance in all things, are creatures that have a great affection for detail.
This applies to every aspect of their lives, including the care and keeping of their manes, beards, and tails.
Though the texture of their hair has more to do with breeding than anything else, the style in which they
wear it has great cultural signifigance. The style of one's mane and tail speaks to how they present
themselves to others. Common styles and their meanings are listed in detail below, though more than one
style may be combined to create a more complex first impression.

Long and Natural- This unicorn wishes to be seen as mature and wise. They embrace the will of the Wild Magicks and respect its unpredictability. They generally do not like to be challenged or questioned. It is a common style among Wild Magicks purists, stallions, and older mares.

Short and Natural- This unicorn wants to make it known that they defer to their elders and wish to learn wisdom. They revere the Wild Magicks and allow it to have its way in their life. It is a common style among younger unicorns, pacifists, and students of members of the Unicorn Council.

Plaited- This unicorn holds steadfast to order and discipline. Though they may wear their plaits in varying sizes, and to various degrees, the sentiment remains. This style is common among the Guard, with scholars, and among students.

Shorn- This unicorn is either disgraced or serving penance for upsetting the balance of the Herd. It will remain neatly trimmed until such time that they feel they have grown past whatever embarrassment they have called upon themselves or until the Council pardons them. These unicorns are often shunned or chased away until they are permitted to grow their mane, tail, and beard again.

If I didn't have this official court status, they'd think me a right flash ponce.
