Hi all!
November's project is a set of holiday cards. It is an example of what paper engineers call a "cobweb structure." I used a nested beehive to create a Christmas tree that rises up out of the paper with an external-tree layer, an internal tree-branch layer, and a trunk layer. You can also detach the tree from the paper and use it as an ornament. (I'm obsessed… lol)

If the video of the card doesn't appear above, here is a direct link: http://kellianderson.com/newsletter/cat-tree.mp4
Everyone is receiving three cards. (I figured that even if you don't celebrate Christmas, chances are you know a couple people who do… ) This was truly the perfect excuse to play around with the beehive.

If you wish to make your own card, I've uploaded a template to cut fold templates here: https://cutfoldtemplates.com/index.html#26
There's a simple version and a complex version, which are both cutter-ready!
Here is some inspiration from Victorian Valentine's cards, where this structure was often used as a paper locket to reveal a lover's face: https://www.metmuseum.org/blogs/now-at-the-met/2017/valentines-day-romance-of-cobwebs Excited to hear what you all think! And have a good weekend and happy holidays too. (FYI for your holiday mailing plans: December's project is a new years card, so I'm hoping to get that out in about 2 weeks, so there is time for you to send it.)
