Poll : Rafiki the magical baboon
Added 2025-09-10 09:27:54 +0000 UTCThis poll is regarding Rafifki and his involvement in the story. My story is somewhat realistic to an extent, so should we add the shaman that is rafifki? It would mean that there is some type of supernatural in the world so its kind of a big deal for the story as a whole.
At the point we are, it is the perfect time to decide if he should be added to the story or not. I am happy with either outcomes.
Even in real life we have religion and other supernatural that cannot be proven yet can't be fully denied either so the involvment of magic is going to be low regardless. So just choose what you want to see, i will worry about those details.

Even if we, or the researchers, don't see him doing actual magic voodoo, I think it'd be great to have him. You already said Zazu was there, and like another person said, he could use a hallucinogenic plant like Iboga (psychedelic plant that can also be used to help process past trauma so take that as you will) or something similar to cause that "magic" to appear with the characters. We see Jaguars here in the Americas trip off fermented or psychedelic plants, it'd be funny to see the human perspective of Leo taking a bite of whatever the staff wielding Mandrill hands him, then going on an out of body experience roaring at nothing and running about chasing clouds π€£
