tech problem
Added 2023-08-29 00:32:43 +0000 UTCguys, who sees a pause in our work this month - for half a month we were fiddling with a large location "stadium", the internal rooms of the bookmaker's office and the trading stalls around.
We improved the detail of the location and added those parts that are needed according to the plot for the next frames and future ones. We created a car model and did a lot of work that will be required for beautiful backgrounds for the next pages. We had already completed 4 pages at 100% and 8 at 70-80% when the main artist's computer broke. Windows just stopped working. Blue screen, full system crash. Attempts to reinstall it - failed, the computer just goes into reboot or reports that it cannot read the image file. At the same time, all hdd and ssd, according to the tests, are in perfect order. We thought that the problem was in the RAM, but the tests also showed a complete absence of problems.
We checked everything, disassembled and reassembled this PC completely. Alas, this did not solve the problem. This fuss lasted almost a week - usually our technical knowledge is more than enough to solve any problems, but we could not solve this one. We contacted technical support and they tormented us with stupid advice for a couple of days, after which they said that we needed to deliver this iron to their workshop. And the nearest authorized workshop to us is located in another city, which is half a day away. If we could be sure which part is broken - RAM, graphics card memory or hard drive - we would just replace that part. But just buying a whole new PC is too expensive for a spontaneous purchase now.
We were hoping to fix this problem before the end of the month and publish a huge update, but it seems the problem will drag on for another week or even more - the master said that it would take either 1 day to solve the problem, or - if he also does not find the cause of the breakdown, then they will simply replace all of this under warranty. But they don't have the needed pieces of iron in stock, they sent them to our small country and it will take a week or a little more - depending on how quickly customs works. In general, as soon as we solve this problem, we will post a big update within a few days.
Artists on other PCs still continue to work further and we will accumulate several dozens of pictures that are 70-80% ready during this time. As soon as our main artist returns to work, we will resume publications.
We should have reported this situation earlier, but we until recently hoped to solve this problem "if not today, then tomorrow." And this crazy week went by way too fast.

Well. Don't that suck. Hope you get it up and running. Best of luck.

2023-08-31 04:26:52 +0000 UTCno, we preferred other countries ;) and we try not to advertise which of our artists live where. For many reasons.
