JULY 12TH | 15:37

“What a nice surprise.”

You were half asleep as you heard Jeongguk’s voice, being pulled out of your slumber. You stretched your body with tiny groans, not even noticing when you fell into an afternoon nap. You guessed you were just so mentally and emotionally drained that it was finally catching up on you and you were more tired than you realized.

“Sorry I used your bed.” you mumbled with a yawn, opening your eyes to watch Jeongguk taking off his jacket and placing it on the back of the armchair near the door.

“Never apologize for being in my bed.” the man chuckled, coming to stand at the foot of it. “But, Namjoon hyung–”

“Joon isn’t sleeping home today.” you told him as you raised your body on your elbows, watching as understanding crossed his beautiful face. “He’s in Incheon with Soyoon.”

“In that case, I would be offended if you weren’t in my bed.” Jeongguk kneeled on his mattress, scooting towards you.

“Were you at Bangtan?” you asked him curiously, hoping the tattoo artists were getting more clients that they had been lately.

“I had one client in the morning.” he told you, letting his body lay over yours, pushing your back against the mattress. “I swear if I have to tattoo angel numbers in a gothic font again–”

You giggled, knowing Jeongguk enjoyed tattooing deeper and more creative tattoos. “Where were you all day, then? That can’t have lasted long.”

“Mhmm, I cannot answer that.” he replied mysteriously, hiding his face on your neck.

“Excuse me?” you laughed, hands on his ribs as you let him kiss your shoulder. “Are you keeping secrets from me now?”

“Not secrets,” he started, dragging his pierced bottom lip on the side of your throat. “Just the one.”

“I guess they don’t make relationships like they used to.” you joked, knowing you weren’t one to talk when it came to hiding things.

“I won’t hide it for much longer.” he promised, raising his body on his elbows so he could look at you. “I’ll show you tomorrow.”

“Show me?” you smiled, pushing his hair back and away from his eyes. “Do I get a hint?”

“Patience, baby.” his bunny smile made your stomach flip a little. “After work, I’ll pick you up and show you.”

“You’ll pick me up?” you repeated. “So you’re not coming in tomorrow night?”

“I’m not fighting tomorrow, so I’ll be a little busy with something else.” he pecked your lips before happily saying: “Think of it as a surprise.”

“Ah, okay.” you forced a smile onto your lips.

And you were excited about this ‘surprise’ because Jeongguk was excited about it. But the one night that Jeongguk is away from the Circle, Wonho shows up again, saying things that got under your skin. And with all of the information you’ve been getting lately, you weren’t able to chuck that off as coincidence.

“What’s wrong?” reading you like a book, Jeongguk frowned. “Did something happen yesterday?”

“Not really…” you started, but he didn’t buy it. “Well, Wonho showed up.”

Jeongguk moved to sit up next to you, instead of staying on top of you.  “What? Did he see you? What did he do?”

“He didn’t do anything, I promise.” you assured him, sitting up as well. “He was annoying as always, but Mingyu was there and scared him off the bar.”

“Fuck. I should have been there.” Jeongguk was feeling guilty and you hated that.

“Guk, no, you were busy doing something else.” you reached for his hand, running on your thumb against the back.

“Yeah, but I knew he could come back,” he insisted. “I knew I shouldn’t leave you there on your own.”

“I wasn’t on my own, I was with the girls.” you tried again. “And Hwasa, and Hatter, and Mingyu–”

“But not me.” he whined, looking at your smaller hand holding his. “It’s my job to protect you, I promised I’d keep you safe.”

“That’s not your job, baby.” you tried to soothe him, kissing the back of his hand. “Besides, I don’t think he’s coming back any time soon. It was a little weird.”

“How weird?”

“I’m not sure.” at least there was nothing you could actually reveal right now. “He’s an unnerving guy, I guess.”

“If he ever touches you, I swear to god–”

“As hot as you are, being all protective, I’ll be fine.” you offered him a small smile that was as genuine as you could make it. “Trust me?”

“I always trust you.”

Jeongguk was a good person by nature, pure and gentle. Kind, loving, understanding. You wanted to tell him things you never told anyone, you wanted him to know you for you; your past, your darkest secrets and your deepest thoughts. You wanted him to be your safe place, more than he already was.

And for that you needed to start coming clean about a few things.

“What’s on your mind, dove?” he asked once you grew too quiet.

“I had a meeting yesterday.” you started, already feeling a weight start to lift from your shoulders.

“Is that why you were all dressed up?” he smiled and you nodded.

“The Seoul Chronicles called me and asked me to come in.” you told him quietly, avoiding his eyes.

“To talk about your article?!”

“Kind of.” you grimaced, adding: “I didn’t win the contest, but they did offer me a job.”

Jeongguk gasped, eyes wide. “Baby, that’s–”

“Before you get too excited, I need to tell you something.” you stopped him with a hand in his chest. “Promise you’ll hear me out before getting mad.”

Not a good start, as those words worried him enough to make his posture a little harder.

“Why would I be mad?” he frowned.

There was no turning back now. “Because I wrote an article about The Circle.”

“You what–” Jeongguk wheezed.

“Hear me out!” you rushed, waving a hand so he could listen to you. “I didn’t use any real names, or the real address, and I didn’t give out any details that would let anyone find it–”

“Baby, if people find out you wrote about our very illegal job–” Jeongguk was freaking out and you could understand why. It was the same reason Taehyung acted out when you told him the same thing. “One that is full of rich and powerful people!”

“They won’t find out, I promise.” you insisted, already moving off the bed. “Come with me, I’ll show you.”

You got up and walked out of the bedroom, as Jeongguk was following right behind you. You went into your own room, going straight to your desk and rummaging the bottom drawer. When you found the printed version of your article that you had shown Taehyung the previous week, you turned around to find Guk sitting at the edge of your bed.

He looked concerned, but non judgemental.

You handed him the papers and, despite being a little skeptical, he took them and started to read. You didn’t watch it as Jeongguk looked through it, his face and eyes were too expressive and you were already feeling the pressure as it was.

Instead, you walked to your window and looked out to the yard. Bam was running around, trying to get a bird that was flying near the pool to drink water. You couldn’t help but smile at the puppy playing by himself.

“Okay, this is not so bad.” Jeongguk broke the silence and your heart let go of some of the tension it was holding. You turned to see him still looking at the papers. “I mean, you still talk about everything, and at the same time not… If anything I think Hatter would use this as advertisement to bring more patrons in, that crazy fucker.”

“Let’s not give him any ideas.” you let out a small laugh, walking closer. “When I sent it into the contest, I wrote a note stating that it was a work of fiction.”

“Why?”

“Because I got scared.” you admitted, sitting next to him. “Not because of the rich clients, but I didn’t want to hurt our friends. I didn’t want to hurt you, in case it backfired.”

“I understand that.” he nodded after a while, giving you back the papers. “And what about the meeting you had?”

“That meeting was about this article, but Mr. Baek didn’t believe it was purely fictional.” you got up again to go back to your desk and put the papers back on its hidden place. This was the kind of thing you couldn’t leave lying around. “He already knew about the Circle.”

“Oh shit, for real?”

“News outlets have an eye out for them, Guk.” you warned him, worried about it yourself. “But they never had anyone on the inside to get them enough information to expose the whole thing.”

His brows furrowed. “They think you’re an insider?”

“In a way. He said they never got so much information like he did from my article.”

“Do you think he will publish it as real, even without your consent?”

You were already shaking your head.

“Not unless he wants to risk a major lawsuit.” you grimaced, sitting on the floor next to your open drawer. “Besides, he doesn't have any proof to back up any of the claims, so he would be taken as a joke.”

“The proof? Dove, what did you do?” Jeongguk was starting to freak out again, but this time you couldn’t really calm him down, you weren’t done with your coming clean.

“The reason I started working for the Circle was to gather enough information to write this.” you explained, a little ashamed of how far down the rabbit hole you went. As you rummaged through the drawer, you told Jeongguk: “I have business cards from patrons, written transcripts from conversations I heard, information about what goes on in there, I have pictures–”

“Yn.” Jeongguk looked a perfect mix of shocked and incredulous.

“I know, I know! But that was before, okay?” you assured him, even if you there was no excuse for what you did. “That was back when I thought you were being exploited, when I thought it was a mafia kind of thing. And I didn’t show anyone any of this, I wouldn’t!”

“This is absolutely insane.” Jeongguk ran his hands across his face and you felt really bad.

“Yes, I know that too.” you assured him, closing the drawer and getting on your knees to crawl closer to the man on your bed. “The meeting I had… Mr. Baek offered me a job. More than a column from a contest, he offered me a five year contract to start off.”

“If you help him expose the circle.” he guessed, but there was no judgment when he asked: “What did you say?”

“I didn’t say anything, I told him I’d think about it.”

“Are you?” Jeongguk touched the side of your face with gentle care, caressing your cheek as he looked at you on your knees.

“Sometimes.” you admitted, leaning into his touch. “This is the kind of opportunity that would get me out of my parent’s control. The chance to prove I know what I’m doing and that I’m actually good at it. It’s a starting point towards a future where I make my own rules. I know Mr. Baek is only interested in me because of the information I have on the Circle, but I am still the one who wrote it.”

“I understand that… I understand why you’re tempted.” his smile was kind, moving his hand from your face to hold your arm and help you stand up. “It’s as if a record company offered me a deal, after listening to my song at the festival.”

“Exactly.” you nodded, allowing Jeongguk to pull you to sit on his lap. “But you wouldn’t be hurting anybody if you said yes to that record deal. I’m not sure I’m able to do that.”

“Fuck, this is crazy.” his arms wrapped around your middle, chin resting on top of your shoulder.

“I know.” your fingers traced the tattoos on the arm around your middle, trying and failing to pick a favorite.

“Did he give you a deadline?”

“Not really.” you sighed, feet dangling as they couldn’t reach the floor. “He said they have been looking for a way into the Circle for years, so I have the higher ground here. I’m the one holding the power, not him.”

“You’re so hot.” Jeongguk groaned, nosing your neck.

You laughed. “I’m glad at least you’re having fun with my misery.”

“Dove, I don’t care if you say yes. Everyone that is part of the Circle knows it’s not a forever thing.” Jeongguk stated and your heart felt small from how sweet and understanding this man was. “Us fighters are only as good as we are handsome, the girls are not supposed to age or look any short of perfect… It’s not a lifelong thing, for any of us.”

“What are you saying?”

“I’m saying that no one would be lost or in the gutter if it got exposed.” he told you carefully. “If it’s not by you, it will be by someone else.”

The idea that someone out there could expose the Circle, however they saw fit, was scary. You wouldn’t have any control over it, they could use real names, give out false information, accuse the fighters or the workers of things they didn’t do. They could get your friends, and yourself, in real trouble.

Legal trouble.

Or even worse.

“But if people do find out that this came from you… You’d be putting yourself at risk.” he continued, always thinking about you before anyone else. “Not when it comes to the workers. But the patrons… It would end careers if any of their names got out. And that would put a massive target on your back and I’m not okay with that.”

“I know, I’ve thought about that too.” you nibbled on your bottom lip, but Jeongguk used his thumb to free it before you hurt yourself. “Mingyu told me about Jae.”

“Who–the guy who died?” he frowned, turning you on his lap so he could look at you a little better.

“Mingyu said he was targeted because he knew too much.” you nodded, admitting what has been bugging you since your talk with Mingyu. “What if he was Mr. Baek’s source?”

“And that’s what got him killed.” Jeongguk’s arms held you just a little tighter. That thought was enough to make up his mind. “Yeah, baby, that’s too dangerous.”

“I know.”

“I’m sorry.” he kissed your cheek. At least you were able to share that truth with someone. At least Jeongguk wasn’t mad or upset that you went behind his back like this. “We’ll find another way to free you.”

JULY 12TH | 20:08

You weren’t watching the movie playing on the TV in the living room, even if it was your idea to put Howl's Moving Castle on.

A little after sunset it started to rain really hard, which made you rush to bring Bam inside to keep him safe and dry.

You particularly loved this type of weather, soaking up on a little bit of cold in the middle of summer, the cozy vibes from the darkened skies, even the thunderstorm was welcomed in a night in like this.

But Jeongguk didn't feel the same way.

After what happened to him the last time it rained this hard, after having his basement-apartment flooded and losing almost everything that he had, you could understand why even a little bit of rain would make him nervous. It made your heart heavy to hear him say that rain and storms felt like a bad omen now.

That he couldn’t help but feel like the skies were warning him that something bad was coming.

‘And I can't think of anything worse than losing you’, it's what he told you with those pretty, round eyes of his.

That was enough for you to turn around to face him, ignoring the movie playing behind your back. Watching Jeongguk was a lot more interesting in any setting anyway. You wouldn’t be missing much of the movie you've seen a hundred times before.

You were both laying on your sides, facing one another. Jeongguk’s arm was tight around your back and every time the thunder got a little closer, roaring a little louder, he'd tremble.

“You're okay, baby.” you promised him with a whisper, hand rubbing his chest in small circles. “I promise, okay?”

“I'm sorry,” his chuckle was nervous and a little awkward. “I probably look so stupid right now, a grown man scared of a little rain?”

“Guk, don’t speak like that, please.” you were frowning, pressing just a little closer to him as you felt he needed it. “You have every reason to be scared, after what you went through. I wasn’t here to see it, but everyone told me it was horrible. So you have a little ptsd, and that's to be expected.”

“Yeah, I guess.” Jeongguk closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. “I just– I really can't lose you, you know?”

“You won't. I promise.” it shattered you just thinking about not having this sweet boy like this.

“Every day that we don't tell hyung, it's another day I have anxiety that we might get caught.” he admitted quietly, and it was a feeling you both shared. “I'm done with that.”

“We'll tell him as soon as he's back from Incheon, okay?” you promised, pushing his hair from his eyes. “We'll both tell him together.”

“Okay.”

And then you would tell Jeongguk something else, too.

You'd tell him your feelings and how you fell for him. Truly. Inevitably. Hopelessly.

You could say it even now, but you wouldn’t feel comfortable bringing up something so pure and massive before everything was out in the open, before you got to freely live this love.

“Can you distract me?” he asked after a loud thunder made the windows shake.

“Yeah, anything you need.” you were nodding.

“Do you know any jokes?”

“Only stupid ones. Not very good ones.” you laughed to yourself, only able to think about jokes you heard from Seokjin. “But I can think of something more distracting.”

“Yeah?” Jeongguk’s gaze lowered, looking at your lips, knowing what you meant.

“Can I show you?” you offered, gently pressing your chest against his.

Jeongguk only hummed, eyes fluttering and leaning his face closer to yours. You watched his lips purse slightly, brows furrowed as he waited for you. You smiled to yourself as you touched his face, leaning closer to brush your lips against his. Jeongguk parted his mouth for you before you even licked his bottom lip, allowing you to search for his tongue.

His hand was on the low of your back, pulling you closer, but otherwise behaving. But you didn’t want him to behave, you wanted him to take what he wanted and to be so distracted he’d think about nothing but you.

Your lips, your body, your hands.

You took Jeongguk’s bottom lip into your mouth and sucked on it with little hums, flicking his lip ring with your tongue. You bit down to make him groan and that’s when his hand started to move down your back, giving your ass a small squeeze before venturing down to your thigh.

“I always wanted to do this,” Jeongguk admitted as you started to kiss his jaw.

“Make out with me?” you let out a little giggle, making your way to his neck.

“Well, yes.” his laugh followed yours, tattooed hand hooking under your knee to bend your leg and pull it to rest around his hip. “But I mean, here. Making out on the couch.”

“It is kinda hot.” you shrugged, dragging your teeth against the skin of his neck, picking a spot to attack with licks and kisses. “Anywhere around the house you would be particularly interested in fucking me?”

Jeongguk didn’t answer for a little while there, brows furrowed as you kissed his neck. You pressed your body closer to his, leg raised enough so he could slip his own thigh between yours. It had you gasping for air, the tight muscle pressing against your core.

“No.” he lied, you didn’t believe it at all, in fact. His denial had you pulling your face from his neck to look at him with one raised eyebrow. “Maybe.”

“Won’t you tell me?” you pouted, bringing both hands to his chest. Your  fingertips rolled his nipples over his shirt before continuing down his stomach to feel the many bumps of his eight pack, moving lower. “Maybe I can make your wish come true.”

“It’s kinda messed up.” Jeongguk told you quietly, breath erratic as your hand reached between his legs, cupping his growing cock. “Fuck.”

You could only think of one place that someone might find fucked up. And you weren’t sure you could keep your promise, if you were proven right. “Is it my brother’s bedroom?”

“Oh, no, no.” Jeongguk’s eyebrows twitched, but you didn’t know if it was because of what you said or the way your hand squeezed him just a little harder over his shorts. “It’s his studio.”

It was your turn to gasp.

Jeongguk wanting to fuck you inside RKIVE was relatively worse than your brother’s bedroom, in a way. The studio was a lot more sacred and dear to Namjoon’s heart than anywhere else in the house would ever be.

But you wouldn’t lie and say you hadn’t thought about it, too.

“Is this a corruption kink?” you teased, bringing your hand to the elastic band around his hips and slipping it into the shorts. You didn’t find any underwear separating Jeongguk’s leaking cock, able to wrap your hand around his tip. “Want to fuck your best friend’s little sister inside his music studio?”

Jeongguk groaned and held your face with both hands to drag you into a desperate kiss. His tongue pushed into your mouth, finding yours in crazed movements and teasing swirls. It made you breathless, brain a little slow as you tried to divide your focus between kissing him back and pumping his cock with your hand.

You kept your movements slow, catching every drop of pre-cum that oozed off of him to use as lubricant. Your thumb was rolling around his tip, teasing the slit, pulling the most beautiful dragged moans from Jeongguk.

Jeongguk licked your lips before latching onto your bottom one, bringing his hand from your ass and between your legs. He cupped your pussy over your shorts, leveling the playing field a little. The fabric was so thin and tiny that it was easier for him to push it to the side to bare your cunt to his greedy fingers.

“So wet.” he praised against your lips, running two fingers up and down your folds. “All this because of me?”

You were nodding, trying to chase him for another lips, but Jeongguk pulled away from you in order to look down. Curiously, you followed the movement and sucked in a gasp at the sight.

His fingers were glistening with your slick as he rubbed them back and forth, spreading it all over your pussy, coming higher up to roll your clit. And your own hand pulling out his cock from his shorts, so small in comparison to his girth and length.

You both watched each other for a while, pleasuring each other, teasing. It would be so easy to just line him up with your entrance. You were wet enough, he was too hard for it to be comfortable, you could just–

But it felt too good like this, too, and maybe fucking you on the couch would cross a line too fast, one that you weren’t comfortable breaking before you wold Namjoon about your relationship. Not that he would ever learn about the things you did in the shared space.

“I feel like I can cum just like this.” Jeongguk was agreeing with you, bringing his fingers to your tight hole, pressing the tips inside you and finding not much resistance. “Shit, listen…”

“Shut up.” you whined, trying to ignore the squelching wet sounds coming from your pussy as he pushed those fingers all the way in.

Jeongguk knew which angles felt best, the speed to use so he wouldn’t hurt you, he knew how to stretch his fingers to part your walls and make you clench even harder. But you knew him, too. You knew he liked it when you kept one hand around his head, only moving your fingers to twist on the underside of it, using your other hand to pump the rest of his length. You knew he lost his mind when you gently cupped his balls, feeling them get tighter every time you sped up your hands.

Your moans were filling up the living room, loud enough to cover the thunders that were starting to get further away. Your ears were buzzing with the rush of blood as you stroked him nice and fast, feeling it deep in your cunt as Jeongguk matched your speed with the pumping of his fingers.

Ah, ah, ah, fuck–

His grunts and groans only made you squeeze around his fingers even harder. When you encased his cockhead with your palm, wrist flicking over and over again, Jeongguk curved his fingers inside you and pressed his palm against your clit.

“Fuck, right there–” you begged as you started to move your hips to ride his fingers, help him push them deeper and continue pumping into your pussy so hard and fast that his biceps were bulging. “Cumming, Guk, oh my god–!”

“Cum for me, pretty girl.” he ordered with a harsher and faster shove of his fingers, tipping you over the edge.

“Jeongguk!”

You weren’t sure what did it for him, if it was your own orgasm, tight around his fingers, dripping down his wrist, or if it was the screaming of his name as you squeezed and tugged at his cock. Just as you started to tremble from your orgasm, shaky and breathless, Jeongguk started to cum, too.

You felt it in your palm, sticking to your fingers and his shorts.

“That was–”

Jeongguk’s words were interrupted by the doorbell, making his eyes widen and his fingers slip out of you in a haste.

You winced from the sudden loss, laughing as you reminded him:

“That's just the pizza we ordered.”

I'm so glad she told him the truth! I'm so scared for them though... Hopefully they come clean to Namjoon soon... We won't even think about all the ways things could, and probably will, go wrong at the circle!
