New Audio 2 (again, video coming soon): The REAL Problem With Modern Gaming

Hello again!

As promised, here's the second work in progress audio for the video I'm working on. Some of you might recognise this as a script I posted a while back, but honestly I've gone back and forth on this so much, changed so much about the script and the associated video edit, that it's taken so much more time than expected. Once again, as always, I hope you can understand, I thank you so so much for your support that allows me to eat food for the month, and the resulting video I hope will be exciting for all involved.

This one takes a look at the thing you see posted all the time on YouTube—that Modern Gaming is (supposedly) DYING. I talk about how indie games, on the surface, are the clear answer to this dilemma—broaden your horizons and you get games that are far cheaper, more polished and importantly infinitely more inventive than the AAA slop that Gamers tend to complain about.

I also then talk about (with reference to my two trips to Gamescom over the last couple of years) the fact that "go indie" isn't much of a solution when it comes to those making games, and simply discussing indie games plainly is incredibly difficult when it comes to critique that simultaneously keeps the lights on. Essentially, big business is having a detrimental effect on modern gaming—just not in the way industry pundits typically discuss.

Plus I get to talk about a bunch of indie games I really like, which is a major bonus.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this WIP of the audio while I put the finishing touches on the full video, which will be getting posted very very soon.

Once again, you are all the best. Thank you so, so much for allowing me to do this work while also keeping a roof over my head. I am endlessly appreciative.

Videos soon!

Thanks,

Hamish
