New Audio (video coming v soon): Why You Need to Be Watching Elden Ring Bingo

Hello everyone!

Hope you're all well after the holiday period. I've been hard at work on about a million different things as usual, and as usual I'm posting what I've got at the very end of the month so that, well, I can afford to pay for food next month. Video portions will be coming very soon, and because I've spent a long time doing work on other video scripts and edits in the meantime, I'm planning on having at least three videos to release next month. I hope you're as excited as I am.

I was also hoping to have the videos themselves ready to post immediately but unfortunately I got moved onto a new higher dose of medication that significantly messed with me for a number of days, and set production back a fair bit. I'm trying my best to pay attention to my body this year and not just work completely relentlessly through stuff I should probably rest for—I hope you can understand that your support allows me to do that, I could not possibly express fully my gratitude for that support, and we'll also see how long I last taking care of myself (lol).

But hey, we've got some fun stuff here—first up is this piece on an event I saw at GDQ, Elden Ring Bingo. It was absolutely exhilarating in a way I couldn't have expected, and as I go into, this comes down to the fact that by slamming together two seemingly conflicting rulesets, you create a sense of drama that wouldn't be achieved in a normal race to the end. I then go onto discuss Rocket League as another example of a game that combines rulesets and mechanics into something that should be a mess, but ultimately becomes even more compelling for the mastery afforded within that chaos.
