Hey everyone!
Just to let you know that the new video is now available, ad-free via the player above!
Elden Ring's much anticipated DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, marks the first time I've been able to review a new Souls-adjacent game in over eight years. When I reviewed Dark Souls 3, I asserted that thanks to the high difficulty of these games, reviewing them can be a stressful experience. In the case of Shadow of the Erdtree, the difficulty is that the DLC is so ridiculously vast and dense with things to uncover, that trying to talk about the game while maintaining that purity of experience for you as a player is difficult. All this to say, Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is bigger than most games (it feels about as big as the entirety of the original Dark Souls), and it's an unbelievably special experience to boot. In this review/analysis, let's talk about Shadow of the Erdtree!
Sorry for the delay in posting this here—pretty hectic few days. Also, if you haven't watched it yet but are sensitive to spoilers, don't worry, the video doesn't feature any areas past the two early ones that were already featured in the preview. There were zero capture restrictions outside of the final boss and a lot of the reviews I've seen have chosen to show stuff much later in the expansion—their choice of course, but definitely exercise caution if you're trying to go in blind. Either way, this thing was pretty special and reignited a love for Elden Ring that had perhaps faded a fair bit.
Thank you all once again for your continued support, it means the absolute world and allows me to keep doing this. I've been pretty busy on stuff that should be hitting the channel soon, and I'm very excited for you all to see it. You're the best!
Thanks again,
Hamish
