1 Year Pixiv Anniversary | 記念日

2nd of October 2024 marks my first Pixiv submission (and also my first attempts with digital illustration). Actually I never planned to do illustration as a side hobby in the first place. I was happy to commission other artists to help bring my ideas to life. Although I'm happy with the commissions that I have requested and had a good rapport with most artists that I have interacted with, I got impatient with the long wait times and wondered, what if I create the art myself instead? It starts with very basic tracing, and pose study, heavily relying on references of characters and studying the art styles of other artists. Drawing almost every single day, even while at work, sneaking 10 minutes of illustrating to fix minor mistakes. More advanced techniques were pursued like shadows, lighting, underwater effects and manga format. I still can't believe that from the beginning of 2024, I never really draw much beyond stick figures let alone sketching. But the famous Youtuber PewDiePie was right, you can practice any skill including drawing, and in 1 year, the difference is very striking. Who knows what kind of art I would create in the year 2026 XDD For my supporters in Fanbox and those who follow me in Pixiv, X and Discord, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for following me and enjoying the underwater art that I have created thus far. Thus, this calls for some celebratory champagne to mark this momentous occasion! Here's to more amazing underwater art/content in the future!
