“Suesmaryosep, diyos ko…. That lady was not nice!”

The woman shimmered into a brown-bricked room, many others flashing in around her.

“Jesus, holy god, what is going on?” she said in a hushed tone looking around.

She gripped the club she had gotten in her hand, her fist shaking ever so slightly in fear of the abrupt situation.

The woman was surprised to see people of every ethnicity, speaking a multitude of languages around her. She could understand some of them thanks to her years of volunteer work across the world.

Turning her head to the sudden screaming she frowned.

“What the fuck is going on here?! Where did that stupid bitch put me!? You answer me! Do you know who I am! I have an important meeting in an hour. I can't be bothered with this nonsense!” the man howled.

The woman saw the man grab a younger boy by the scruff of the neck, the boy terrified and shaking.

Her shivers from before vanished as her instinct to protect kicked in.

She surged like an angry wave through the crowd running as fast as her five-foot-length legs would take her. And they took her right in front of the boarish man, holding the teen.

“What do you think you are doing?! Didn’t your mother teach you any manners!?” she yelled, grabbing the man’s hands.

“Who the fuck are you?! Get off me you old hag! Don’t you know who I am?” the man shouted back.

“I don’t give a fucking shit who you are! You respect your elders!” she growled, raising her cudgel, “I’ll beat your ass like your mother was supposed to! Don’t you know you shouldn’t hurt children!”

“What?! Wait!” shrieked the older man, raising his hands up in his defense, “I’m sorry!”

But it was too late, the woman was set on punishing the man. But instead of bringing down her weapon like he thought she would. She instead pulled the man forward, bending him over one knee.

“MM! I’ll teach you! La loko!” she screamed raising her hand, then hesitating as she realized she was using her open hand, “Where is my belt!? Sige, I just use my slipper!”

The woman pulled her flip-flop off of her foot, holding it in a firm grip before bringing it down on the older man’s bottom.

“Sige!” Now you know who the fuck I am! Sige!” she shouted again, bringing down the slipper, “Talk to me like that! Who the fuck you are!? Sige! Talaga ne puta ne damo!! Sige!!” she shouted once more, bringing down the deadly slipper.

“I-i’m sorry!” the man cried, his face beat red in embarrassment.

“I teach you what is sorry! Sige! Hitting children. You should know better!” she roared about to bring down another swat of the slipper but was stopped by a hand.

“Mom, Mom! Stop! The guy gets it!” the voice behind her said.

“Travis? Oh, Travis! Thank the lord you’re safe! Where is your brother?!” she beamed, getting up and forgetting about the man. She wrapped her arms around her son, tears filling her eyes.

“I don’t know Mom, but we should search for him. I don’t think Drake will be here… He’s off in a different city, but Dillan was right next to me when we got. I don’t know, transported?”

“What do you mean transported? We were kidnapped!” she scoffed, “I don’t know who did it, but they are going to be sorry they ever messed with your mother!”

The boy sighed and shook his head, knowing his mother actually meant it. Whenever it involved kids or her family she was relentless. Always picking a fight over even hearing the reasoning.

“Mom… let’s just find Dillan first…”

“Miss?” another voice said, from behind the woman.

Turning she looked at the boy she had saved.

“Aye dito, what is it? Are you ok?” she asked.

“Yes, thank you very much.. Um?”

“Ah. You can call me Mrs. Wallen or Nanai,” she responded, giving a gentle smile.
