runDisney Disneyland Halloween Half Plans 🎃

Thanks to all who commented on the original post. Sounds like there is some interest in a meal option both inside the parks and at Downtown Disney. So why not both? You could come to both or just one or none. Here's what I'm thinking in terms of making specific plans since dining reservations open shortly:

Saturday , 9/7 - Brunch/Lunch in Downtown Disney either at Centrico (lunch) or Paseo (they have a brunch specific menu). These are both sit down options we need to reserve. Alternatively, we could meet at Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel (no park entrance required) which is technically quick service but seems to offer some yummy options. And if memory serves, you can get Dole Whip there, too 🍍

Sunday, 9/8 - Post race medal pics at the castle and/or a celebratory meal at Blue Bayou. If we do the latter, I'd suggest a later lunch time (maybe sometime between 1 and 3?) to allow time for people to recover after the half.

Still up for more casual encounters on Thursday and Friday, we just need to make some decisions about these things that require reservations. I'm going to leave two comments at the top of this post - one for those interested in Saturday meal and the other for Sunday. It would be a great help if you could reply underneath those comments specifically if you plan to join in! I'm so excited!! 👻

Hello, fellow runDisney friends! I'm creating this post as a communication point for us to chat about possible meetup plans for the inaugural (so fancy) runDisney Disneyland Halloween Half event weekend in September. I know there's at least a few of you planning to be around that weekend and I'd love to get together with whomever is interested! Here are my initial thoughts, but I encourage you to share suggestions in the comments as well:

• I am participating in all of the weekend's events including yoga and all three races, so you can keep a lookout for me at any of those if a planned meetup doesn't work for you.

• I'm not quite sure how the Disneyland expos go, but if I'm not mistaken it will be held at the Disneyland hotel convention area. I'm remembering there's a coffee shop around there. I'd totally be open to a very casual "come by if you'd like" before the expo opens.

• I've mentioned possibly meeting at Salt & Straw in Downtown Disney a few times now (your girl likes ice cream, ok? 😉) which I'd be open to doing maybe mid-late afternoon on Friday.

• I try to take it as easy as possible on Saturday after the 10K in preparation for the half, so that's when I'd be most interested in planning a sit down meal if there are folks interested. Brunch anyone? As of posting, dining reservations open in about 10 days, so if we're going to try for a meal, I'd suggest we nail that down asap.

I'm open to other suggestions for sure. Let me know what you think and we'll work something out. I hope to see you there! 👻
