Rias spent 90% of the actual rating game just. Standing there. Menacingly! I am thoroughly surprised at the DF reveal, I was sure that Rias was going to double down and get herself another crazy quasi-elemental energy type, like Lightning, or Magma, or even Ice. The reasoning is sound, but the taste of her fruit really made me focus on the WCI arc instead of Wano. I wonder how all those Dragons working for the Khaos Brigade are going to take getting upstaged by the Otaku Princess of Ecchi?! This does mean Koka-baka will probably be bringing a lot more power to his little play, more than just for Izuku. If Izu can scare HIM though, that would be a massive power up, even if he only takes a portion rather than pissing Az-chan off by taking it all... Possibilities, possibilities

2025-04-15 08:28:37 +0000 UTCYeah, you're right that the new Devil society, while changing from the old one, is still pretty inflexible regarding 'traditions,' and a human marrying a pure-blooded a Devil heiress doesn't sound like something they'd like, given how much they value Devils' purity. Though I bet they'd be less hostile to this than the Old Satan Faction, which will likely try to weaponize this for their own cause, as pointless as that is. Izuku is definitely going to shake things up on all sides since he is a super powerful human from another world, and while reincarnating him into a Devil is preferable for the Devils, I think he has more worth right now by remaining human, especially given what is about to happen with 'a certain extremist group' looking to destroy everything. I also think that Izuku, using his soul absorption powers, will either change into something not human...or maybe 'evolve' into something else if he keeps strengthening his soul to beyond human levels by consuming stronger souls and incorporating their powers.

Got to say though that from a political perspective Izuku not being a devil and therefore not having his soul abilities as a bloodline to further enhance the devil race is not a good look. You have Ajuka on tap and probable access to Dr. Vegapunk’s devil fruit to serve as a bribe with the limited shape shifting abilities of all devils to counteract the possible negative consequences. Get a special piece or a modified king piece that mearly requires “intament” regular contact with a stabilized or born devil and a promotion to high class for his part in curing the sleeping disease. Unless you have an actual reason why an evil piece wouldn’t work on Izuku then it would be a political disaster to have Izuku as a human for much longer.

Though I don't know who will wield the Holy Swords now that Freed is..."indisposed," and the architect of that plan has very few subordinates left who can. I hope Izuku can smooth things over with the Church, especially since he has no personal beef with them, and having a pure-blooded human allied/neutral with both Heaven and Hell sounds smart to anyone with 2 usable brain cells.

The next chapter is literally the one of the holy swords and that means the if what many specualte is right for what Asia sayabout having 3 friends we are finally introduced to Issei who here sees to has moved with Irina or was found by an angel and nor Azazel. I really hope that it Issei is one of those 3 Asia mentioned that he helped mellow Xenovia that at the very least she gives the demon the benefit of the doubt, since it would be very sad if she reject Asia friendship since the way Asia spoke when she mentioned them is obvious they are really good friends and her friendship helped a little to make Asia a little more experited. Also even if Asia is really friendly with the Gremory clan even a little more than in canon because of the fact here she didnt reincarnate, I can see her actually being with Issei group because she still is churchbeliever so even with the frienship he has with Izuku and Rias peerage Im pretty sure she would prefer to work for the church, specially with Issei group since they are her first friends

The only thing I do know for sure is that Extinguished Star is actually Rias's own move and other than the set up where she swallowed the attack before letting it go everything else is pretty much the same. I also kinda figured this would probably be the fruit Rias would eat considering how Issei's dragon power affected her abilities in canon. As for Issei I have a feeling he's probably in Italy with Irina and Xenovia and is who you hinted at with Asia in an earlier chapter (5?)

I think I asked this on your Ao3 version of this story but I’ll ask again here. Because Izuku is now in an alternate universe, can he now re-give devil fruits that he already dispensed when he was in his original universe? Technically there would still only be one instance of the fruits in existence in the world so it seems like he could. Maybe by using a copy of the books native to this universe? Just wondering. Obviously he couldn’t use the fruits that he or his homies ate but then again I only have a small amount of knowledge about One Piece and only from the anime. After the first couple hundred episodes I took a break and now to have to rewatch from the beginning… pretty sure I’d hit series fatigue again after a while and the cycle would repeat itself 😏

This works so good on two levels, one it plays into the whole Dragon Dues thing with dragons being op in this universe. It also works because there is a devil clan that takes on draconian features, so she can just say she mutated like Serafall mutated to be like a Lucifage. Plus it's just badass!

I was honestly expecting some esoteric/underutilized paramecia. Something that could be possibly explained lore-wise with devil magic. Power of imagination and all that. Like it’s always depicted as an almighty force that crushes the will of whoever is in the way, but that’s it at the end. This Bites! does it in a way I fucking adore in which they present the Conq. Haki as an actual extension of who the user is and what they represent to their enemies, making their version of CH truly theirs. I’m not comparing your fic to the standards of another: both are really freaking good and miles better than anything I can churn out, I just wanted to point this out because I’ve been coming across it a lot, lol.

Wonder what the evil dragon Crom Crauch is thinking because he is the only evil serpentine type dragon i know in mythology. Second I can't believe I predicted this a bit. Rias tricked Riser into letting Izuku fight (platinum star for that by the way) and then he showed everyone who top dog was. Then the near absolute defeat of Riser, because he still got one good hit in, and now he has lost his status as a high-class devil. Best roast of Riser I have ever read to this day!!! The only thing that would make this day better is if you put all these chapters up so I can download them and listen to them while I work.

In hindsight it’s obvious that Rias probably would not have gone in depth on a fruit to maximize her potential but rather go for the biggest and newest power up she could because of hype. She just started reading Wano and with the position that dragons have in DxD, it should have been obvious she would go for Kaido’s fruit. Now the Underworld will have a clan of destruction dragons. Nice. Also love how you did the family meeting and Rias’ parents. They really just wanted to look out for her but were a little blindsided with Riser. The moment she was talking up Izuku and how capable he was their fears were unwarranted. They didn’t even have a problem with because he was human but rather that she would outlive him. It was a nice touch. The next chapter can not get here sooner because as much as the big fight is always fun to read, I always look forward to the fallout of such instances and now the entire underworld which includes the fallen and any other supernatural that tuned in now knows their is a new player in the scene who is fully human and capable of doing impossible feats. Can’t wait to see what everyone’s thoughts are and I hope we get to see the reactions of everyone outside of the devils too. Azazel, heaven, the hero faction, Yōkai, Norse, chaos brigade, hell even Ophis since there is now a new powerful dragon. Great stuff as always Prim!

And even then, it's because I like the other shows slightly more than I like DxD! What a great freaking pay-off - both in story and IRL. Like I loved reading this chapter, yet I kept expecting it to cut off at some stage - before the meeting with Rias's parents, then after the "flashback" to Izuku's world, then before the meeting with Riser, or before the actual Rating Game and DF reveal... A reveal which was sooo worth the build up! Like I didn't try and guess the fruit, because my stupid-ass-brain kept suggesting fruits which you SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED someone else having. Never would have expected Kaido, and I am literally in the process of rewatching Wano. The actual story beats are just so fun to read - and I really got a good chuckle at the image of Mirko just impatiently tapping her foot like Thumper. Also, that scene with Sirzechs was both epic, and a pretty cool decision relating to Izuku's "place" in the DxD power rankings. Poor Sona though - left on nun-sitting duty, and her rival now very much outclasses her to an almost crazy degree. TL;DR - great update, loving the story, still think the LN-like name is dope.
