My Dad
Added 2018-06-20 13:51:16 +0000 UTCOK, so in one of my last posts, I told you my dad was in the hospital. He released himself on his own risk today. The diagnosis is that it was not only his heart, but that he has also had a mini stroke which, luckily, did no permanent damage.
He has now been given a stroke ID thingie that identifies him as a stroke patient, but he still refuses for me to go and install an emergency button so he can call for help if he needs it. He's as stubborn as a mule sometimes.
On one hand, I want to hit him upside the head and yell at him to get his shit together and accept help.
On the other hand I want to curl up in a ball and cry, because I knew stuff like this would be coming for a long time since he has 4 bypasses and 3 stands in his heart already.
At 65 years of age, he keeps pushing himself and stressing himself. Like, right now, he puts himself through a strickt 1500 calories a day, stressing his body more than it needs to be. In addition, he insists on doing sport 3 times a week.
Sure, he is losing weight, but I keep warning him that he is not doing it in a healthy manner, and that he is putting his body through more stress than it is able to handle.
Even now, he is not listening to me...
