I went through a major mental health crisis recently; I'm still recovering. I've been working on getting a contract I've had since 2011 mothballed; that's been the gateway to getting my head back into a productive space. I've been experimenting with blank verse, of a sort - feeling out rhythm in prose.
Flow is important.
I'm still working on stuff that's going straight to AO3, as it's under a fandom umbrella, and I think all the practice there will pay off handsomely in the near future. At least I hope it will.
These text files are experiments with... I suppose you could call it "performance journaling with elements of science fiction." My life is so unbelievable compared to the median baseline that all I really need to do to get it to read like sci-fi is change a few names, a few locations.
It makes me wonder if that's the case for other writers; I wonder how much of their work is fragments of their reality, how much of it is lived experience, and how much of it is a command performance.
It's a very different space than line art, which I am due to return to soon.
