Garden, Eternity, Shape
An island of ghosts and memories
well little birds, it's been just under two weeks since I got back from New York for No Quarter, and things have only just started to feel normal again, like it was a real thing that actually happened and is now behind me. thank you so, so much to everyone who came out to see me, it was an honor and a pleasure to get to talk to you and spend time with you staying as far away from my own game as possible!
now that the event is over and the rights firmly and completely in my hands, I've decided to go ahead and release the game here for all of you. before you play however, note that there're some things to keep in mind. when I was approached to be a part of No Quarter, I was given one parameter: i had to make a 'community' game, a game that was multiplayer in some sense. you all know me well enough to imagine how unusual this is for me, given my bent towards solitary, single-player experiences. this game, I think you'll find, is a pretty good middle ground between what was asked and what comes naturally to me.
it's meant to be played subsequently, without being closed, by no less than eight people. it was also designed to be played with two Xbox 360 controllers; one controls the player, the other is meant to be discovered. the hope was that two players would each have a controller, and would realize their relationship gradually. as a result, this game is best experienced with at least two people taking turns, with more people being even better. that said, I've altered the controls a little to make it playable by one person. be sure to check the readme for keyboard/mouse controls, and if you're going it alone, check 'spoilers.txt' for more information. fun fact: this game is also a spiritual sequel to Rain, House, Eternity, if you remember that little number. i think the parallels will be immediately obvious to those of you who do!
in other news, it's official-- you have all most certainly, definitely, it-shows-up-on-my-dashboard-for-real-now surpassed $1,000 in pledges! i sincerely could not ask for better supporters, you are all the absolute best. as promised, I'm going to go ahead and get started on that gift I promised in my last update, so look forward to that in the near future!
i thiiiiiiiink that's just about everything I've got, my darlings. thank you for yet another month, and for allowing me to come this far. keep well until next time, little birds. mama crow loves you
