i was approached by a dreaming machine, who pressed herself against me and slipped her wrist into my hand, and together we began to compose

which is to say, ya girl got into the Dall-E 2 beta a couple months ago.  so here's a thing I put together!  an unguided photo-tour of the sweet, uncanny suburbs and residences of nightworld.  all the images included in the attachment were generated by Dall-E 2.  fine food for long minutes of nocturnal staring to the tune of soft, droning ambient music, if I do say so myself.  i hope you enjoy it.  now that Dall-E is available to the public, if you'd like to continue the tour yourself I recommend the following prompt, the like of which was used to create the vast majority of these (swap things in parentheses for your own input):

"grainy, low-resolution digital photo of a (dark/abandoned/ruined/empty/haunted) house on a (dark/abandoned/ruined/empty/haunted) suburban street, taken (at midnight, at dusk, during a rain storm, etc), lit by camera flash"

in personal news, my move is over and I'm settled someplace at least a little bit kinder and safer.  Of course, the very day before it happened my laptop went and died, and the first thing I had to do here was take it to a shop where it promptly spent four weeks.  I got it back, however, and just in time for a hurricane to take out my internet for a full day!  i swear if I survive 2022 I'll never be afraid of anything ever again

point is, things are calm-ish again, and I'm eager to get back on track.  The plans made earlier this year, before all this interruption, will soon be resumed.  Discord, streams, Q&As, the lot.  I've missed you so badly, little birds, and I'm so glad to be back with you again.  thank you so much for the patience and kind, well-wishing messages during this time.  you're better than I could ever ask for and I love you.
