Travis Scott - 90210 Remake (Pt. 1 FLP & Stems)

Hey Patrons!

I’m excited to bring you a sneak peek of our Travis Scott “90210” remake. Thanks to our awesome Discord community (now at 10K members!), we’ve uncovered and remade a ton of key sounds from the original track. Here’s a look at what we’ve done so far:

🥁 Drums:

• One of our members managed to get a screenshot of the actual ‘90210’ project file from Wondagurl’s original session with Travis Scott. Using that as a reference, we tracked down the exact drum samples. The snare was particularly hard to find, but after some serious EQ work, we matched the TM88 Baby Snare perfectly. It’s super crispy - definitely worth playing around with! Check out the screenshot below to see how the session looked and the files are attached below.

🎹 Synths:

• Mike Dean recorded all the synth loops live, along with the distorted guitars in the post-chorus. To replicate these, we relied heavily on Arturia’s JUN-6V. The lead keys were particularly tricky, playing subtly across multiple octaves with saw and pulse oscillators. Adjusting the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) was key to thinning out the sound, which made the lower octaves harder to pinpoint, but it was a crucial part of the remake.

🎸 Guitars:

Mike Dean played both guitars live using a Telecaster. We replicated this with the Ample TC, a classic guitar that I have used in many other remakes, and in particular Travis Scott remakes. To replicate the huge bass guitar from the post-chorus, I added Guitar Rig’s “Dirt” and a few other effects to achieve that gritty distortion from the original. Another important component I added was Tape Echo for an interesting reverb/delay effect. If you're looking for more effects to add to your arsenal, Guitar Rig can be an excellent choice because of how incredibly versatile it can be.
