Strongest In DxD - Chapter 95
Added 2021-12-05 03:05:04 +0000 UTCDemon looked at Demon. Crimson Red meets Dark Red. Then the former stepped forward. Then the Demon burst into flames, and when it died, its monstrous form was gone.
Standing where the Devil was before, now stands a woman. She looks to be in her early twenties. Her skin is pale and smooth. Her red hair came down to the nape of her neck with a fringe over her right eye. Lips are ruby red and look so delicate. Her eyes, while remaining bestial, were blood red with a slit instead of a pupil.
She was dressed in a red shirt that reached the sleeve just past the elbow, topped by a black cardigan. Her bottom was covered by jeans and brown worldly shoes. Overall, she looks like a normal pretty girl instead of the demonic creature.
"Hmph" Even her voice no longer carries terror but soft as a normal person, "You don't need to remind me Satan, I remember well what He told me" She said with mockery.
"Good" Satan said nodding.
"But..." Diablo began as his gaze swept over the entire area that was covered in flames.
"You should have followed that too" she said with sweat dripping off her face.
"I didn't do that" Satan said as he denied making Diablo stare at him in surprise.
"Well?" she asked waiting for the answer.
"It was her" said Satan pointing down.
Diablo's eyes followed the direction and focused on the ground where another person was walking calmly.
A tall woman with faded white hair and golden eyes, she was wearing a black high-heeled boot and a black dress and a blue blouse over it.
This was none other than Joan who walked calmly through the destroyed roads of the Vatican with incomparable calm.
Joan walked calmly through the battlefield while not caring about the flames that approached her.
Joan didn't even look up as several exorcists tried to approach her.
All the exorcists jumped as they prepared their weapons to attack Joan.
But before they could react, huge flames emerged from the ground at Joan's command, incinerating them completely.
Ducking her head Joan dodged another sword attack while only pointing her hand at the person who tried to cut her, and the black flames exploded from her hand incinerating him.
Seeing the flames annihilate everything in their path the Dragon Witch gained an immense smile.
"Ahhhh, that's very good" Joan said smiling at what she was seeing.
While watching everything Joan continued to walk down the middle of the street while ignoring the cries of pain and agony happening all around her.
Of normal humans running away in fear and of the exorcists who were victims of the attacks and writhing from their injuries.
Seeing what was happening in front of her, of the chaos and death that was spreading, of everyone's screams of agony was making Joan's mood go through the roof.
"That's enough."
An imposing voice caught the attention of everyone, including Joan who turned to the sky.
In the sky a light shone, illuminating the night and causing the darkness to recede, it was as if the gates of heaven had opened to demonstrate the arrival of an Angel.
And that is exactly what happened.
When the light disappeared it was revealed who was in the middle of that pillar of sacred power.
He was a tall man with short blond hair, his eyes were a sky blue color, and he had twelve long white wings sticking out of his back.
The smile on Joan's face widened as she saw who had appeared.
"So finally some of those cowards decided to show their faces" Joan said with a sarcastic smile.
"The Flame of God, Uriel"
The one who had descended directly from Heaven to try to oppose the invaders was one of the Four Great Seraphim, the Angel known as "Flame of God" Uriel.
The Angel stared at all that was happening with an iron gaze.
The humans and exorcists cried out in excitement at the appearance of the Angel who would bring a ray of hope to this dark moment.
"U-Uriel-sama" one of the exorcists shouted in joy at seeing the Angel there.
Turning to everyone, the Angel gave a gentle smile.
"Don't worry, I will sort things out and all would be well. God is on our side" said Uriel firmly.
At the Angel's words everyone present had their faith renewed, their hope that they would survive this dark moment.
But the reality is not so good.
A laugh took everyone's concentration and joy away, and as they turned to the source what they saw surprised them.
It was Joan who was laughing, she was holding her belly as she couldn't hold in so much laughter.
"What are you laughing at" shouted Uriel as his body glowed in holy flames, his voice as angry as it could get without the Angel falling.
Joan in a few moments had regained her composure as she turned to Uriel with a scornful look on her face.
"Of course it's funny" Joan said before smiling even wider.
"After all, how can someone dead be on someone's side?" asked Joan with a smile.
Upon hearing the woman's words the humans gained perplexed expressions while Uriel had his eyes wide open.
"What are you talking witch?! Never that God would be dead!" shouted one of the exorcists in pure perplexity.
"Hahahaha" Joan's laughter escaped her mouth as her smile grew even wider.
"I see, so the little angel over there didn't tell, that God also died during the Great War" said Joan with an immense smile.
The bewildered expression of the humans turned to Uriel for an explanation.
However before Uriel could speak his attention went again to Joan who had a smile on her face.
"Don't forget this Angel, lying is a sin" Joan said with a wry smile on her face.
The smile on the woman's face was all it took to make the "Flame of God" explode.
Uriel's body was bathed in immense sacred white flames, the explosion of his igneous power caused all other surrounding flames to be suppressed.
And concentrating all his flames in his hand he fired at Joan.
The sphere of sacred flames traveled through space as it hit Joan generating an immense explosion of pure sacred flames.
The flames burned everything around him, the ground melted around him in the supernatural heat of the flames.
But in an instant from the middle of the flames, walking as if they were not going to hurt her, Joan came out.
Now, after being hit by flames that did not injure her came out Joan wearing her combat clothes.
She wore a shiny black armor, with pointed shapes at the ends of her elbows and shoulders. Underneath the metal parts, she wears black-colored garments, such as long stockings, a long skirt and a blouse of the same color. He also wears a metal helmet, which is attached to the armor, covering only the outline of his face. He still has a long black cape with hair on the collar, contributing to enhance his dark characterization.
In his left hand was a huge black flag, whose handle has a sharp spear, and in his right hand was a black sword with detailed red ornaments, the sword La Pucelle.
