This is a multiverse, so don't think it's strange characters from other animes appear in the story, moreover this story will take place in the DxD world, but remember characters from other stories will appear, so don't be surprised.
Have a good read.
______________
Kevin Durand didn't know when or how it started, but all he knew was that it was no longer possible to stop, and you may be asking yourself, what couldn't he stop?
He couldn't stop searching for a way to obtain magic, something that for ordinary people is nothing but nonsense or fantasy movies, but for Kevin it was something very serious, all his life he searched for magic, but never succeeded in his quest.
All Kevin remembers was seeing people on television with super powers, and many times these people who had super powers could do anything they wished, and this was something Kevin also longed for, and even though he was greeted with laughter from his classmates he never gave up, but actually motivated himself even more to continue on his quest.
Kevin had practiced ten different martial arts, thinking that he could gain the approval of the God of Martial Arts and perhaps obtain some reward such as a little magic, but this had been in vain since there didn't seem to be any God of Martial Arts in his world.
He practiced Buddhist arts, even climbed a mountain to meditate in search of ascension, but this too was unsuccessful and all he had achieved was to go bald, since the Buddhists would not accept him if he was not bald.
But for Kevin this was a cheap price for the chance to obtain magic.
As time passed, his obsession with magic had changed to an obsession with pure, unrestricted power.
He wanted to become the most powerful person in the world, which is why he increased the intensity of his training a hundredfold.
Kevin trained while people slept.
Kevin slept while people trained.
Kevin ate his breakfast looking at the wall.
All right, the last part was just something he had read on the Internet that could make him awaken some interesting powers, but this also proved to be useless for Kevin.
Luckily Kevin was a person born into a wealthy family, so he didn't have to worry about his future, but that couldn't be the same for his family who worried even more about Kevin with each passing day.
His father, a successful businessman, constantly told Kevin to abandon this crazy idea of becoming stronger and to go with him to manage the family business, but who was Kevin? He had never allowed himself to be tempted by worldly things.
So he just ignored his father, and went on a journey in search of becoming more powerful.
On one of his trips he met a beggar who was walking in the street, and as a person who has watched many anime movies and read many stories he knew that this beggar could be a hidden expert who was disguised or injured, and once he helped this beggar he could receive a huge power or inheritance, so Kevin quickly went to help the beggar.
But it seemed that fate was playing tricks on Kevin, as the beggar was really a beggar, and left after thanking Kevin for his help.
Watching the beggar leave, Kevin wondered if all his quest for power was just something pointless like his family and friends had said.
''Maybe I should go back home?''
Kevin looked up at the darkening sky as a series of thoughts ran through his head.
''Hmph, this must be fate trying to make me give up on obtaining a greater power, it is likely that I am closer to obtaining a power that will make me the strongest person in the world.''
Kevin then stood up from the stone he was sitting on, and walked back in search of more power.
And so much time went by.
And in the blink of an eye, ten years had passed, and Kevin was now a completely different person, but the funny thing was that he was still not satisfied with his quest for power, as he still felt inferior when compared to those protagonists and villains from the stories he read to pass the time.
''No matter how strong I have become these ten years, I am still not able to stop an atomic bomb, even the shot from a pistol could kill me easily.''
Kevin knew that no matter how strong he became, since he lived in the age of gunpowder weapons he could never defeat many people, maybe only if he was close enough to someone with a gun could he have a chance to react, but even then the chance that he might die was not small.
At this moment Kevin was walking around a forest, looking for a lion to fight.
People might think he was crazy to try to face a lion that is considered the King of the Jungle, but Kevin knew more than anyone that he could fight with a certain calmness against a lion, and this was mainly due to his abnormal physique that he obtained due to the super training of the last ten years.
Kevin is currently 6'3" tall, and his body is completely muscular, even bodybuilding athletes pale in comparison, and Kevin has achieved something that many dream of.
To have a lot of muscle and still be able to be fast, something that was very difficult in his world.
But not only has he trained for the last ten years, he has also invested a good part of his time in seeking knowledge, since he knew that once he was strong enough he could start an empire, or even conquer the world he lives in.
Kevin even imagined himself dominating the world, and then going to other planets in the future to make human beings intergalactic creatures.
But not everything could be as Kevin wanted.
For when he was looking for a lion to battle, he saw a light a little way from where he was standing.
Kevin's eyes sparkled at the sight of that light.
"Finally, I have found you!
Kevin ran towards the light, but it seemed that the light was getting further away every second, causing Kevin to have to speed up his run so that he could reach the light.
Before Kevin knew it, he was running towards a cliff that was three hundred meters deep, something that no human being could survive.
Looking at the light jumping towards the cliff, Kevin quickly jumped up and grabbed the light with a smile on his face.
''Finally, I caught you!''
Opening his hands slowly, Kevin saw the power he had captured, and his face immediately froze.
Because what was in his hand was a firefly.
''Damn, looks like I made a mistake.''
Those were Kevin's last thoughts before he died.
...
...
- Somewhere in the universe -
''Hahaha, that kid really jumped off the cliff.'' An old man with blond hair, spoke as he couldn't contain his laughter.
The people around the old man also had smiles on their faces, as if they had seen the biggest joke in years.
But among these people there was one who had a sad expression, and the reason for the sadness was that this person had lost a lot of money to the old man.
''Looks like you won this time, but look at that other girl in the world number 302xxx, I bet a hundred charitable souls that she will accomplish becoming the most beautiful woman in the world.''
The old man quickly looked over to the lake next door, there he saw an ugly looking girl and a smile quickly appeared on his face.
''Very well, I will bet with you again.'' The old man said with a smile on his face.
But in his head, he was only thinking about how good it was to deceive these children that he had created out of nothing.
Yes, this old man was precisely God, who was betting with his children which humans could fulfill their wishes, there were even humans that interested this group of people, that they decided to grant a place for them in this place.
The old man, or rather God turned his gaze to the lake where he saw Kevin jumping off the cliff, and with a slight wave of his hand, he sent Kevin's soul to an unknown place.
''You've brought a lot of fun to me and my children these past few years, so I'm going to help you out a little, I hope you enjoy it.''
The lake in front of him soon disappeared, so he and his children focused on the lake that the ugly girl was in.
