NAMES! Recently I attended a talk by the creative lead of the (original) Alien Isolation game. He was essentially tasked with creating a game environment as close to the Nostromo from the first movie as possible, and he had all these notes from HR Giger and Ridley Scott to work with; it was fascinating. ANYWAY, obviously it put me in mind of Rasha and Everen and the plight of the Wolf Spider, so I had a relisten while pottering this afternoon, and in case you are expanding the cast and universe, here are some unusualish, potentially futuristic names I've always loved. SEN is a great first or last name: it's south Asian, north Indian to be specific, eg Sen-Gupta (this is partly my heritage). You don't hear it a great deal, and I've always found it evocative and potentially unisex and futuristic. It could even be an honorofic. SAINT. Potentially a future first name, taken from (doy) a Saint's name but vulgarized in the way that "MariΓ‘ de la Soledad" has become the name Soledad in Spanish-speaking countries. ANNIK and ANOUK. French girls' names (more of my heritage) that don't get a lot of play. They're just so staccato and fun, even if as a template for modifying other names. Finally, just some Nordic people I know: Elin, Einar (pronounced EYE-narr), Asta, Ulvi, Sanna and Asko. There you go! Bit of an odd one but I had some names to offload and nowhere really to put 'em. Not planning on adopting THAT many cats. Hope all good!
