News: February 2025

The development of Act 1 of DI is going well. Calling them acts instead of chapters now, but same thing. The first town is nearing completion (at least the first pass of it).

The Mage's Guild is located in this town. Although it does serve a purpose during Act 1, it will gain more functionality in a later act. No spoilers, though!

The apothecary NPC in the previews will have a side quest for you. Complete it to unlock stronger potions for combat. Afterwards, her quest will become repeatable. You can farm it as much as you like, but rest assured, you will not need to farm it at all. If you manage to complete her quest "perfectly", you might just impress her enough to get a second special reward.

The trinket merchant will sell you some early game accessories. You might even be able to get a discount. This character in particular was not made in my usual "style". If you would like to see more mature characters, do let me know.

Some other smaller things will be added later. For now I plan on moving on to the various villages. I want to get all of the locations implemented with their main functions first. Later I plan to revisit and add more.

The main quest has been developed slightly. You will need to chat with Ivy at the camp to start the main quest. You may notice some other options in the previews, too. In order to continue adding the main quest, the other locations need to be added first. There's a few NPCs to make/remake as well. Those are the things I'll be focusing on next.

I'm considering releasing the first part of Act 1 as soon as it is ready. The second part of Act 1 takes place in the largest location of Act 1. It's not really worth splitting them into separate acts due to the story.

The current plan is to hold off until all of Act 1 is complete. I'll release the first half as the free demo, while all of Act 1 will be available at the $10 tier on Patreon and for a 1 time price of $10 on itch.io 1 month after the Patreon release. I could release the first half as soon as it is ready to the $10 Patreon tier exclusively.

Which would you prefer? Wait for all of Act 1 or have half of it released early?

The next TOT will be #5. I plan on skipping 1 month after #6 to focus on DI for that entire month. I'll also create a bundle of the first 6 TOTs at a slight discount on itch.io. The plan is to keep that bundle always available.

It's rather unrealistic to add multiple protagonist genders to the TOTs at this time. It would impact the development of DI far too much. Instead I plan on starting up a new type of poll on Patreon. I'll let you vote for your preferred MC gender and partner gender for the following 3 TOTs. Voting for the theme will still continue on the monthly schedule as it is right now. I may simplify it to the overall theme. (Such as slice of life, fantasy, sci-fi, etc.)
